So according to the veterans, drones, thermal imagers and NVG are completely ineffective in Kashmir forests.

Either the above is true or the veterans are clueless about modern imaging and recon tech and technically illiterate. Maybe stuck in old ways.

Totally depends upon the usage of it. Dekho seedhi si baat hai...Jitne marzi AI infused TI /I² sensors with image processing lgwa lo it will be a waste of money they'll find a way around it. Hitting targets across the fence is a much more sensible thing to do. We have the info and We have the exact men to do that ! Otherwise goodluck with deploying those sensors in 1267 sq km of forest cover in rajouri, let alone poonch-baramulla-keran-kel areas.

This is nice to know that only 2 MARCOs went to do the Rao couple's CQB training. They might have come back and said "ahhhh...not worth it" based off their real knowledge.
