Major Surendra Pooniya to was a doc but had bagged many medals in international competitions events also sported balidan badge.Thats why asked .
Btw western armies especially USA have combat medic concept
AFAIK, in SF (atleast seals) they dont have "combat medics" per se, just a squad member who has taken a course in advanced first aid as one of his specialisations.

SEALs/any naval SOF in US generally have a SARC in them. His entire job is being a medic and will often be kept in relatively safe positions to make sure he doesn't get hurt. Much like how they use JTACs/CCTs.
Green Berets also have 18D who go through the SOCM.

These compositions can be modified in special circumstances. For example (and I don't know the reasoning behind it), Neptune Spear had all DEVGRU guys and no augments which was remarked as out of ordinary by the operators.
Also, point to be noted- most non JSOC units are trained in TCCC or advanced first aid as you put it as their time in the teams progresses, so its pretty much obvious that JSOC units are bound to have non combat medic roles able to do some advanced medical stuff.
What people are calling combat medics here (like Surendra Poonia) are actually full blown doctors. That is not what combat medics are.
As of yet, the Americans absolutely dominate the SOF spectrum and trying to match their level of training is a fool's venture since even they often mention themselves that their spending on SOF is unnecessarily exorbitant.
Still, one should aim for betterment and specialised schools and formal role assignments probably wouldn't hurt.

Officially it's Bren 2 BR vs MDRX
So PLR pulled out before they could come to a conclusion or just didn't participate at all ??
It was pretty obvious that if it wouldn't be PLR , it definitely woulda be CMT . But the doubt comes in production quality, since last time I read bout Bren , they had a lot problems such as broken stocks and cracking polymer

But what is a CT/HRT unit going to do with a 762/51 battle rifle?
Lol no clue . NSG is very much infamous for varied stock piling . The only thing which has more no. ; Henceforth more uniformity is as follows
1. Mp5 series
2. Sig Mpx
3. Sig 550 series
4. Barrett m98b
5. Glocks
6. H&K psg -1
7. Fn Minimi

And there are some P-90s , M4 carbines , FN f-2000s , FN-Scars (Mk-17,16) , kriss vectors here and there .
But something I find funny is that despite this huge stockpile , NSG rarely puts them up for operational use or even display . Like why not use them to their best service life . Yeah there might some logistic issues true but a lot of European SWATs use a variety of weaponry itself . Atleast for display . Instead of everyone with SMGs just let there be more rifles and SBRs
