They are definitely not supposed to be security guards , Even jsoc pulls psd but they do it in enemy nation for very high ranking officers or bureaucrats or politicians under high risk , para sf are used as security guards at every small to big event for low to high ranking officials within our own country.

This was an event inside a SF battalion’s HQ and the CM has his own close protection detail.
Standing around providing PSD in that context (with ribbons and badges on) isn’t professional behaviour. Even setting the bar very low for these guys they find new ways to make clowns of themselves
