Is someone going to tell them that the point in a low profile plate carrier is so you can still add pouches and kit without it getting too bulky? It’s as pointless as a non-ballistic high cut helmet if you use it empty

+ what is it with the Indian military and having a zoo? In that one small squad there’s 4 different weapons(point man had a micro uzi, Mp9, Tavor, M4). It doesn’t make you look ‘cool’ to a professional you look like undisciplined clowns

Most of the time they dont even have plates in them, whats the point of wearing them? Fucking hell atleast attach something to the carrier, maybe some meds? or even a damned knife.

Can say all we like about the [email protected] outcomes and performance but you hear about what these guys are doing and what they have done and you can’t say they aren’t hard men giving their all, they are just failed by those above them.

As we know india has no SOCOM (AFSOD is NOT a command)

Worth watching from 3:09:00 to understand why the best units in the world are the best equipped (hint it’s not a coincidence:
(Kevin Owens was the senior most NCO inside the US Army’s special operations command force modernisation office)

-SOCOM’s force mod projects are meant to be bottom up (lowest ranks give a requirement and it passes up the ranks)
-SCARs are pretty terrible for SOF (ironically they were what Paras were lusting after as part of that FMS package we heard about)
-across the SOCOM force mod office are 8 divisions (ballistics/shooting, mobility, protection (PPE), ISR etc)
-it takes 5 years for them to get a requirement into a contract
- one of the mandates of SOCOM is to be the test bed for the conventional forces

There’s a lot more and it gives a good insight into whi the best are the best, contrast this with Indian SF that have basically stood still in 12 years (especially Paras)

Do we think there’s even 1 PARA inside IA HQ with this kind of vision or mandate?
+ he also goes on to praise the X95 funkily enough, says it’s not as accurate as an equivalent AR but for a carbine it’s a decent weapon. Not sure if he’d pick it over his AR pattern SOCOM issued weapons still or just likes it as a toy as a civilian

Maybe the influence of the Israeli police (not sure if IDF do it as well)? It’s pretty outdated not to have one in the chamber these days especially with Glocks that have internal safeties. The pros of this drill massively outweigh the cons (risk of a negligent discharge), I really think the NSG are lagging behind training and mentality wise.

They still think they are a 1980s CT/HR type unit and haven’t really moved foreword

This should've been the time for our SF to be active in all these spheres. Had it been the US, they would've sent Green Berets to train the Balochs and in POK. Send the CIA SAD to support TTP fighting Pak Army. Send SEAL Teams to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh. Used CCTs to make airbases close to these areas and used JSOC for manhunting missions. Basically your Tier 2 SF remain engaged in unconventional warfare while Tier 1 takes advantage of the mayhem they cause to focus solely on manhunting operations.
The history of modern-day warfare is the history of manhunting. All you have to do is take out the ringleaders and the rest would fold like a pack of cards, putting the 'enemy's ambitions' back twenty or thirty years.

Successful ops are past tense... present tense is badly equipped and trained... future might be unsuccessful ops.

Which is like you living in the past glory and us trying to warn against future failures.
