Posted before but there have been repeated queries about the procurement of EXFIL Helmets without comms which are being used by the Army & CRPF QAT.

Actually the Northern Command didn't buy helmets separately. They were part of the TONBO deal.
If we combine them both then (Size 1 Medium/Large) EXFIL weighs around 1.18 Kg + ARJ-17(900g)/ARJ-12(600g) = 2.18/1.78Kg Approx

(Procured by CRPF not by the NC)

If we combine more weight +450g of PELTOR Comtac & Batteries to balance the weight of TIS/NVD at the front then it is around 2.25-2.5 kg. which IMO not comfortable & heavy for terrain along LOC. But of course it is required in Valley's Urban ops.

I guess that's why Army is using lightweight coms with these helmets

I searched a lot but didn't get any info regarding these comms which are commonly used by the Army.

This helmet came with INT COM (Vel Cro) but Army is using these silver coms instead.

PARA Regt. do have these high cuts (Unknown maker) since a decade, but were only seen with either small comms or NVDs

This is just an opinion based on observations on what Army is actually using. What should they use or what they need, well these are never ending topics.
The highcut helmet from gurdaspur is not technically a high cut,
It is the tank crew helmet offered by mku

Other militaries donโ€™t seem to have these concerns (about head weight), in fact they go much further- helmets + NVGs+ rails+ IR identifier+ counter weights+ tactical lights+ head cams

I donโ€™t think the Indian soldierโ€™s neck is so weak that it makes sense to use these cheap (likely Chinese made) mobile phone hands free earpieces in place of mil-standard COMTACs with built-in noise cancellation. Those cheap silver hands free devices are likely next to useless in an actual combat situation as their cheap mics wonโ€™t be able to detect the userโ€™s voice over background noise and the speakers are too ineffective to play whatever is transmitted to another user

It cannot be the reason.

Lift 40kgs in training to destroy your knees and lower back but dont carry 2.5 kgs of gear which helps you survive.

Thereโ€™s no such thing as a โ€˜women wingโ€™, a few years ago the NSG opened up a few spots in SRG to women to protect female protectees none of whom wanted female commandos in their protection details.

A total waste of time and money, purely for press attention now

they have had lower standards to get in and have never been deployed on operations, they arenโ€™t even sent to hubs.
