You would be knowing people in the armed forces, ask them, simple.

Otherwise the technical knowledge and claims are outlandish in many interviews.

In the counter insurgency pics thread i saw someone saying that headsets worn by a trooper was comtac.

Thats like saying MG Hector is Lamborghini urus

Well I guess someone who has served in the army would know about the use, advantage/disadvantage more than me. The ID is visible, you can ask him on DM.

I respect all Armymen for their service.

I would really be surprised if even 10% of infantry officers would know what does a comtac excatly do.

So this statement that we have better is not to be taken seriously.

Recent pic of the encounter in Jammu must be of the No 1 and 2 teams deployed there.

If they dont have it..i dont know what we are doing with the comtacs then.

Why would most infantry men not know what it is.
Basically it gives one more situational awareness by amplifying lower decibel noise and cuts off noise above a particular decibel. And the mic, if used, provides clear communication even in a noisy environment.
It is a user friendly thing.
