in 2020 annual report itself they mentioned that both L110 & C25 stages for CY-3 were fully realised. Only problem is with simultaneously casting 4 S200 boosters.

Compare this to SpaceX, i know india vs usa and private player but it's amazing that within a span of 6 months, spaceX created probably the most powerful rocket ever built, 3 of them are ready for trials.

Even ignore that, see the rate at which they have been reusing Falcon 9 or building more infra surrounding starbase.

Only a private player can save us, ISRO has done well but they are at the end of the day babudom ridden agency slower than a snail's pace.

GSLV Mk3 is at the lower of end of medium lift capability, it's sad that we can't build even 3 of them in 6 months.

The biggest hurdle in mass producing GSLV-MK3 is casting of S200 boosters. Casting them will take a lot of time. If it had been a fully Liquid fuelled LV like Falcon 9, then probably GSLV-MK3 would also be frequently launched like Falcon 9

I intentionally didn't brought up china, they had 30+ launches till september, they are probably reaching 40 launches.

We need to expand the plans of ISRO, it's not like they don't have missions, they could have planned for expanding the coverage of NAVIC, make it into GPS. Partner with indigenous companies or propose ideas for satellite internet services like starlink so on.

Plenty of missions are there, ISRO needs a budget bump. We are spending around 2billion usd per year, money and goal needs to be broadened.

We are talking about sustaining presence in space while countries are talking about building moon base. Once starship starts flying USA will be there, China will be there soon and with that russia.

Moon is the new antartica, in 2 decades we will have rockets being assembled at moon and being launched from there to other planets. While here we are. It's a rant i understand the limitations but a bit frustrated with ISRO, with politicians.

You create goals, you assign an AIM, assign a budget and get the guys to work. Atleast that's how things were being done in countries with better space program. Even japanese are doing so great. Hell even if we consider Rocket Lab as american company based in NZ still that tiny country with tiny company launched 6 times, though way lesser payload and capability but still it's amazing how well they are doing.

It's a rant so don't mind it, feel free to remove it.

China indeed has an impressive production but all of medium rockets. They might take a while to frequently launch heavy ones like US & France.

When CNSA gives date for a mission, they stick to it unlike ISRO where it keeps shifting ahead for months.

Ariane5 will be gone soon and have a study about the new Ariane6 , then you might be know about the tendency here.

Learn the meaning of humbleness bug, anyway i was referring to september and here's a data from september, by mid spetember total launches by china were 33, almost same as whatever i said, i even had the data of total tons in space that time.

The launch window of PSLV-C52 with Risat-1A was evidently set between Feb 5th and March 5th. So we could see two PSLV launches within a month. That would certainly be a boost!

Post-poning multiple launches to shift them into one month isn't a boost at all.

If rockets have been under production or stocked for an year, then no. Since we have two launch pads with two vehicle assembly building, even launching two rockets in one day isn't impossible.

Right. I was thinking more along the lines of ISRO having surmounted the technical issues that were hampering the launch of both RISAT-1A and Oceansat-3. Great to know of the infrastructure improvements.

Dr S. Somanath, new Chairman, ISRO calls on Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh and discusses status of “Gaganyaan” and other future Space missions

Dr S. Somanath, who has taken over as the new Chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) called on Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology; Minister of State (Independent Charge) Earth Sciences; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh and discussed the status of “Gaganyaan” as well as other Space missions lined up for the near future.

While conveying his best wishes to the new ISRO Chief, Dr Jitendra Singh said that Dr. Somanath was taking over the prestigious assignment at a very eventful time and destiny had blessed him to lead ISRO through some of the most historic missions including India’s first Human Space Mission “Gaganyaan”.

Dr Jitendra Singh said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Space programmes have been given a special impetus and Space technology has now been made applicable in different sectors including roads and highways, railways, healthcare, agriculture, etc. He said, during the next few years, India’s ascent to the top will be heralded via the Space route.

ISRO Chairman updated the Minister about the status of Gaganyaan programme and said that there had been a delay in timeline because of the COVID and other constraints but now things have again fallen back on the track and all the systems needed for the first unmanned mission are getting realised. Following the first unmanned mission, the second unmanned mission “Vyommitra” will carry Robot and this will then be followed by the Human Mission.

The Minister was also informed that the Indian Astronauts have successfully undergone Generic Space Flight Training in Russia. A dedicated ad-hoc astronaut training centre has also been established at Bengaluru for Gaganyan specific training.

The preparations for the Human Mission, said the ISRO Chief, involve in-flight demonstration of Crew Escape System functioning in lower atmosphere (less than 10 Kms). The exercise recovery of the crew module after impacting in Sea is also being worked out.

In 2022, ISRO also has the distinction of launching GSAT-21, the first fully funded satellite of NSIL (New Space India Limited) and will be owned as well as operated by NSIL. This Communication Satellite will meet the DTH (Direct to Home) application needs.

ISRO Chairman presented at brief about the forthcoming missions during the next three months. He mentioned a RICAT-1A PSLV C5-2 scheduled for February 2022, OCEANSAT-3, INS 2B ANAND PSLV C-53 to be launched in March 2022 and SSLV-D1 Micro SAT in April 2022.
