PAV Badger

Soon to be crowned the world's smallest tank, this little armored juggernaut is only 32 inches wide and about 4 feet high. The driver is protected by ballistic steel and Kevlar armor with bulletproof Lexan windows. This compact powerhouse is designed to assist security and law enforcement teams.

Indian Forces at CT operation do need small armoud tracked Vehicle with mass fire power..

30/50CAL RCWS..

Kunal sir what we need is two type of common RCWS, one for jeep and small trucks and other for trucks and APC. common in the sense that it use the existing machine guns and would be easy to use.

later on other things can be added to this system like the sniper sensor etc.

Why not use Daksh romote type vehicle fit an assault rifle or Heavy grenade launcher on it to do the job.

The Vehicle is in need coz it small and armoud, It can be used preciosly to fight ambush or it can mount a offensive as a Infentry support Vehicle..

Thier are small Urban areas where we know tangos live, those places are infested with Machinegunner and Snipers, In that situation a small Vehicle with a big gun can provide good survellece ( Via RCWS`s thermal and HI-Res cam ) also provide suppresion fire for troops..

Also as Sayareakd Sir told that it can break-in houses through door or wall enabling troops to get in from any places, This helps us to capture or kill the tango without blowing or making any damge to the surrondings where Carl Gustaf leaves a huge mess..

Besides Badger, i like German Wiseal Armoured Vehicle, It suit our requirements too..

JBH in mountain space is issue, very less flat space to build anything, plus in valley buildings are very cramp, APC cannot get in, just enough space for small car to go inside. Terrorists take advantage of this situation.

BTW Carl Gustav 84mm is over kill, for anti terrorist operation where forces have to win heart and mind of locals, use of Carl Gustav is over kill, most of the houses in kashmir is made of wood, as wood is good for cold place, use of Carl Gustav result in fire which not only destroy building occupied by the terrorist but also adjacent buildings. So we end up with more people against us.

A mini armoured car, designed for use in confined spaces such as airports and hotels targeted in terror attacks, has gone on display at an Indian arms fair.
The battery operated, two million rupee ($45,000) Anti-Terrorist Assault Cart (Atac) is said to resemble a bullet-proof golf buggy with firing ports.
It has been specially designed to transport two armed security personnel during or after terror attacks.
It was created in the wake of the Mumbai (Bombay) hotel attacks of 2008.
The attacks in November 2008 took place in two luxury hotels with gunmen surrounded by security forces for about 60 hours. One hundred and sixty-five people were killed in the attacks, including nine gunmen.
The company behind the cart, Metaltech Motor Bodies Pvt Ltd, said the Atac had been designed in the aftermath of the attacks.
'Helplessness'
"It can extract civilians or engage terrorists," Metaltech managing director JB Sehrawat told the AFP news agency.
"It's a product of our sense of helplessness over the casualties we took in the attacks. We put our heads and hearts together and came up with the Atac."
It weighs just under half a tonne, has bullet-proof windows and contains numerous firing ports. Furthermore it is able to negotiate corridors and lifts.
Metaltech says the squat and heavily armoured vehicle can also withstand grenade blasts and last for six hours on a single charge - with a top speed of 25km/h (15mph).
The company said it was offering a prototype of the vehicle, which drew applause from visitors and military scientists attending the arms fair in Delhi, for trials with the sponsors of the Commonwealth Games, due to be held in the city in November.
India has had to reassure foreign countries that those games and next month's hockey World Cup in Delhi will be safe and free of terror attacks.
"Given the growing threats, we need nano-engineering such as the Atac," Metaltech Vice President SW Thatte said.

I just don't buy that argument if APC's are useful in mountaineous region of Caucasus,Afghanistan it surely have its place in Kashmir its just that paramilitary force don't have or perhaps don't want that show of force.

BMP-2 and T-55 are stationed in Jammu area, But Due to Narrow roads even the Highway to patnitop and beyond not good for BMP like vehicles the road cannot take such weights at the Edges , Thats one reason we use Wheeled MPVs as IFV/APC, On the Urban roads ( 3 meters wide or less ) even a Maruti Jeep strugle to move..

A BTR cannot move in High way NH-1, Cacasus must be different, Kashmir is much more challenging..
