18 bogies flipped, AC coaches fully crushed, boggies pierced into one another. No chance of survival in these coaches, death toll had already crossed 100, and people there saying more are trapped inside the crushed boggies. Death toll will easily cross 200-250 by afternoon tomorrow
With the amount of people packed in general coaches can't imagine the horror. Even non ac feels like general now.

And people chimped out at the German cartoonist. Other than a few outliers in the last 3 years, the state of indian railways is monthly crashes and derailment leading to hundreds of deaths.
At this point of time , this isn't needed. Besides your information is totally wrong. What monthly crashes are you talking about & where are the hundreds of deaths ?

About 50 dead and more than 400 injured. Coromandel Express hit the Goods train, some of its coaches derailed into adjacent track. Sometime later Superfast Express rammed into derailed Coromandel Express.- Opindia

There're 4-5 Goods train derailement/accidents in 5 months of 2023. We should give more attention to this also.

Truth hurts it seems. Wont change the fact that over 200 are dead and rising.

>While between 1990-1995, an average of more than 500 accidents took place every year, with around 2,400 deaths and 4,300 injured in those five years, a decade later between 2013-2018, an average of around 110 accidents took place every year which killed around 990 people and injured about 1,500 people, according to data available with PTI. Accidents dropped off after 2017/18 but this accident will make this year one of the deadliest years in decades

After Coromandel and Goods train collided, Superfast Express train rammed into derailed Coromandel coaches. Some media report say "third train" met accident after 4 minutes later, some say 25 minutes...

This makes the count 4 which looks fake. Only 3 trains involved. First is Bengaluru - Howrah which is derailed first. Coromandel stuck the SMVT-HWH coaches at 130 MPS and derailed. Now the coromandel coaches after impact crashed into a stationary Goods train.

This looks like the sequence of Events.

Now the question is arising which my relatives also talked about.

1. If IRCTC can give real time availability of berths in Reservation. Why they failed to simply follow the same rule for Unreserved coaches. IF it is 2s 72 seats are available to book, this should be made first come first serve. Looks like IR wants to get every money and allowing to overcrowd. After engine it will be General coaches and we can be sure it will be jam packed and most of the death occured.

2. Also it becomes a bigger nuisance with WL, General passengers sitting in the Sleeper coaches, AC and other reserved coaches. This needs to to curtailed. Either put a ticket checker in each coach and allow only valid ticket holders.

3. Recently went to Bengaluru from Chennai in MAS-MSB VB and the chennai - jolarpettai section is 130 kmph mps. Now the problem is the track condition is not upto mark. Too much lateral movement and noise seeping into the train. Compared to that I have travelled in Chennai Egmore - Madurai Tejas Express which has 110 MPS. Here the journey is very smooth compared to the 130 MPS section.
This brings the question of the quality of work.

More than 150 pasengers will be filled up in a general coach. Lot of labours from east states like bengal, bihar, assam travel to south. They book tickets even in sleeper but still , due to demand seats are less.
Even daily passengers travel in general coaches.
Solution is to run more trains in these routes.
