Always wondered about this AKM variant. First thought that this is a Polish AKMS. Did you get a look at the selector markings or gun markings ?
Unfortunately mate i haven't seen or held this gun psychically yet, I kind of made a guess cause without a close inspection it's hard to differentiate between them, it could be polish too.

Cause these kind of Eastern bloc aks have a "mixed" status, some units have them some don't. It's random unlike the Bulgarian counterparts which were properly issued.

What do you mean regular ?? does UP have both regular and specialized PSOs??
Well yes, officers like Dy.SPs and ADDL SPs in most of the states have their bodyguards or PSOs from regular police. While high ranking officers like DGPs have state police commandos along with state police. (basically those "commandos" are from on deputation in those units from regular state police department, only difference between the regular constables and constables from specialised units (example jharkhand Jaguars from jharkhand) are firearms, the amount of ammunition they can carry, training and of course pay/salary.)

I have always had a doubt!! Does states like Punjab and UP have both district armed police and State Armed Police under main HQ??
There's nothing like main hq on district level, it's all under SP or SSP along with various SPs (if a big or important district) depends on the type of force and district some armed forces only have officers upto dy.sp level who report to district SP/SSP while some have their own SP (in districts) and even upto DIGs and ADGS in main state police headquarters which is usually situated in state's capital but in district level they usually work under a SP, but alas everything goes the DGP of state. And to be honest there's nothing such as armed police or state police, some states have specialised units but it doesn't mean that normal police isn't armed.

RPF (Railway Protection Force). Trichy Assault rifle 7.62mm (left), INSAS 1B1 side folding variant on the right. Those chains are "sentry chains" which basically "chains" the rifle to the body of whoever is carrying the rifle, prevents the rifle from being snatched which happens often with RPF.

Fun fact : Procurement and Use of Bulgarian arsenal AKs by police forces are at least near 2 decades old, earliest I have seen was AR-M1F in use by BIHAR ATS back in July 2005.

Moreover Some of these AKs have aged badly, with most of them completely losing paint on receivers and other metal parts, apparently because state police armouries don't paint their weapons unlike the armouries of CAPF, armouries of different CAPFs paint their guns when their colour gets faded
