A combined team of Bishnupur commandos and a column of 16 Assam Rifles seized a number of arms and ammunition from Leimaram Makha Leikai Khullak Turel Mapal under Nambol police station this morning.
According to police, the combined team conducted an extensive search operation in between Irengbam Maning and Leimaram Makha Leikai Khullak on receiving inputs about the presence of suspected hideouts of underground cadres there.
During the search, the combined team found some arms and ammunition buried at Leimaram Makha Leikai Khullak Turel Mapal and the same were seized.
The seized items include one 9 mm pistol (made in Taiwan), one 9 mm pistol (made in Italy), one 9 mm pistol (made in Columbia), two Chinese hand grenades, one COM set, one COM set charger, three 9 mm magazines, 21 detonators of Chinese grenade, four detonator of PEK, five PEK explosive weighing .5 kilogram, two empty cases of lathode and one safety fuse.
The seized arms and ammunition have been handed over to Nambol police station.
