But again sas-m7 isn't manufactured anymore. But i really doubt if that's Sam-7. Perhaps they use ar-m (the original one which came before ar-m1) with 45° gas tube or ar-m1f without muzzle brake. Cuz i highly doubt if you can mount ubgl on sam-7

Kerala police Thunder Bolts Commandos.
From a different perspective:

if we remove the part where ambassador crashes thru the gate, rest of it looks like they also train for kidnapping people from a vehicle and evacuation of the kidnapped in black vans.

And this is from Kerala, a communist ruled state.

Just a thought...
Riot gear including helmets should be made available on GEM for state police forces to purchase, and it should be made mandatory to buy them only on GEM.

GEM is like Flipkart for Indian govt offices/department to buy things online.

Let there be a approved riot control products for state police to purchase, and qualitative requirement document for new vendors to manufacture the equipment.

I doubt If there is even a scientific study to find out which is the best riot gear for Indian climatic conditions.

It’s ridiculous when SP level officers show up on the street with cricket helmets..

If they like the cricket helmets so much, then they should ask the cricket helmet manufacturers to make a police version for specifically for riots.

This way atleast the riot gear is standardised across the country.

or we can use the same inventory as of army, that will reduce cost of manufacturing & also would prepare police forces to take part in major escalation & stop calling army for every riot

Army has riot gear? when I say riot gear I mean this..

And more over army is trained to shoot to kill, not take stone coming their way. In J&K it the police&CRPF who handle the riots and stone pelters, not army. That’s not their mandate.

I think things like helmet & knee caps can be borrowed from army inventory, which are more effective in bearing projectiles(like stones).
Also police is not made to take on stone coming their way,but to disrupt the crowd (in some cases put bullet in their head) throwing stones.

Having a army helmet is far better than having a cricket helmet

#CISF personnel along with NSG Commandos & Octopus personnel from Tirupati Hub conducted joint mock exercises on the contingency of intrusion detection and hostage release @ SDSC SHAR Sriharikota.
Officials of ISRO Mgmt also participated in the mock drill. #preparedness #practice
OCTOPUS look good, CISF needs to SIGNIFICANTLY update their response teams/ERTs/QRTs They protect some of the most critical infra in India and all I’ve ever seen them using are AKs, bulky BPJs and Patkas/ACHs. It’s not good enough.
