CM Devendra Fadnavis, Governor to soon get a helicopter
Mumbai: The Maharashtra government will soon get its new helicopter for the Governor and Chief minister and the services will begin in 15 days.

The Airbus H 145 helicopter is scheduled to reach here on September 17 from Germany. Various parts of Airbus H 145 will be assembled in Mumbai by the INDAMER Aviation Company. This assembling will take at least a month.

The helicopter will mainly be used by the Governor and the Chief Minister for official tours. However, once the model code of conduct comes into effect post Ganesh Visarjan, the CM and any of the other ministers will not be able to use this plane.

The chopper has the capacity to seat 12 people, including the crew members. However, during the time it is assembled, the capacity will be kept for 6-8 people to provide more leg-space to the VVIPs.

After the helicopter VT-CMM SIKORSKY S-76C crashed on May 25, 2017, none of the helicopters of the state government are operational. One is under maintenance, hence the state government decided to buy its new helicopter for VVIPs.

After the tendering process, it was decided to buy the Airbus H 145 helicopter for Rs73 crore. It is considered as one of the best crash-proof helicopters.

The tendering to sell the old crashed helicopter VT-CMM SIKORSKY S-76C is under process. It was purchased in 2011 by the state government and insured for Rs56 crore. The insurance company has paid Rs40 crore till now to the state government. The rest of the amount will be paid after the sale of the helicopter. “The condition of the engine of this crashed helicopter is very good. The experts from insurance company will decide the sale price and then we will issue a tender,” said a senior official of the Directorate of Aviation in Maharashtra government.

State plane to be available in 15 days

The state government owns a Cessna plane, which has a capacity of 10 people, including the crew. This plane is not in operations for the last 18 months as it has been under maintenance. Its repair is almost over. It is expected that the state can use services of this plane after 15 days.

Kolkata: In a move that could revolutionise policing in the West Bengal capital, the detective department of the Kolkata police is all set to procure body cameras for use in conducting the raids and recording the crime scenes.

The Lal Bazar police is expected to procure around 100 body cameras for its personnel posted in the detective branch.

Many state police units prefer Army's standard issued camo during training. It creates confusion. Minus the ERT shoulder tab & you may never know their real unit name. We all will end up labelling them as Armymen.

What ab utterly pathetic state they are! Ancient AKs, no plate carriers, no spare mags, no radios, no helmets etc etc

but it’s okay they have elbow guards, bandanas and sunglasses because they need to look “cool” FFS.

they aren’t even holding their weapons correctly which makes me seriously doubt their capabilities. And these are meant to be the first responders to terror attack in the capital of the world’s 5th largest economy! Whoever signed off on this unit deserves to be pecked to death by hungry vultures.


Did they really learn nothing from 26/11?? A few determined terrorists with some relative familiarity with small arms were able to cut threw these poorly trained and poorly armed police officers like a hot knife through butter. It’s frankly criminal to expect these guys to be an anti-terror unit with this level of equipment, would you move in the direction of an AK-47 with nothing but a shirt on your back and a rusty AK in your hands? I certainly wouldn’t.

The concept is a great great idea but execution is worse than pathetic.

Also whatever you said exhibits your ignorance and prejudiced grudge against the police force. Let's start with spare magazines what do you think they have those orange pouches tucked to their belts For? That's a magazine pouch. Ancient AKs, except two AKs in those pictures all of them are Bulgarian milled AKs which is also used by CAPFs and several police forces why don't you criticise them? and about holding that's how you hold a folded AK when not in use. Stop watching movies that'd be good for you. Toxic People like you shouldn't be allowed to criticise anything at the first place who don't even know anything about what they're really trying to criticise.
