Not sure why a nuke would require 'thrust vectoring' or 'end game manuevering' to provide a high level of accuracy.
Because our friend - Ayushraj has no idea what method will be required to improve missile accuracy.

As long as a nuke maintains inertial guidance level accuracy (~200m), then its as good as it gets, since everything that it was intended to hit would be crispy fried no matter where it falls within the CEP area.
Unfortunately, even the most advanced inertial guidance system can't provide 200m level CEP, ICBM will need other tech assistance to reach that level.
Basically, there are 3 key factors deciding ICBM or ballistic missile's CEP:
1. navigation systems;
2. precision of manufacturing;
3. number of testing launch;

How can India understate the tonnage when you get so many foreign companies and government organizations involved.
For any country with less than 1000 warheads, MAD protocol is a fantasy.

I rarely engage you given the amount of crap you spew here everyday for the simple reason that there is no point correcting a fool, as they say arguing with an idiot makes two of them so, it's best to ignore.

So do yourself a favour and show your stupidity elsewhere , where your idiocracy will much appreciated.

Reading the last 3 pages gave me a headache

Let's do a self Q&A where the readers will answer themselves.

This is Agni 2 top section

images.jpeg

Now

Step 1 : Decide whether it is a

1. Nuke
2. RV containing a nuke

Step 2 : Then decide whether it is a

1. Ballistic RV
2. Maneuvering RV ( MaRV )

Step 2a : If it is ballistic RV then what is the purpose of

1. Control surfaces
2. Thrusters at the rear ( not visible in the pic )

Step 2b : If it is a MaRV then what is the purpose of

1. Control surfaces
2. Thrusters at the rear ( not visible in the pic )

Step 3 : With respect to your choice in step 2 , which one mandates requirement of a very accurate guidance system

1. The ballistic RV
2. The MaRV

Hopefully you will all clear the doubts yourself.

This is the gif of a very old Agni 1 RV test demonstrating airburst detonation at a pre-programmed altitude.

Importantly the video was shot from onboard a ship prepositioned at the expected impact area ( the sea is clearly visible ) , which shows the accuracy of the Indian guidance system ( Agni 1 is the smallest ranged in the series but it is also the oldest one , since then the guidance system has gotten better even at very long ranges ).

India’s Second Indigenous Nuclear Submarine, Arighat, To Be Commissioned This Year
The submarine, which had been quietly launched in 2017 by the then defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman, is currently in the final stages of sea trials.
The Arighat was to be commissioned into service late last year but the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic derailed the plan.
The boat has four missile launch tubes, capable of carrying 12 K-15 Submarine Launched Ballistic Missiles (SLBMs) or four K-4 SLBMs. While the K-15 has a range of 750 kilometer, the K-4 can hit targets 3,500 km away.
K-15 missile has entered service. The last developmental trial of the K-4 was conducted in January 2020 and, reports say, the missile is ready for induction. With the induction of K-15, India’s SSBNs will become capable of targeting large parts of China, including Beijing, and all of Pakistan, during a crisis.
Two more SSBNs, identified as S4 and S4* for now, are under final assembly at the Ship Building Centre in Visakhapatnam. These boats will not only be better armed — capable of carrying eight 3,500 km range K-4 — than INS Arihant and Arighat but also displace 1,000 tonnes more than the two submarines.
India is also developing a new series of SSBNs, which will be much larger and better armed than the Arihant-class SSBNs. Currently identified in news reports as S-5, this type will have a displacement of 13,500 tonnes. Reports say the type will be capable of carrying 12 long-range nuclear-tipped ballistic missiles.

4 X Arihant class
3 X S5 class
6 X Indian SSN
2 X Russian nuclear submarines (1 leased and 1 will be leased)

Seems Navy is planning an indeed big fleet for nuclear submarines. Adding conventional ones, number can reach 35-40. But again, they will need to stick to schedules.

What about P75I? I know it's a SSK, but it needs to be factored in when we consider the PLAN in the IOR or against the 8 Hangor subs of Pak.

Thread is for nuclear submarines. For total strength, yes, I'm accounting,
15 x nuclear, 6 Scorpenes, 6 P75I (project is too slow anyway) and say the indigenous diesel submarine concept which is one with little details right now.
Seing half of submarines will retire soon, adding rest half gives me a figure of 30-40 submarines strength for future.

Future, as of 2035ish
4 Arihant
3 S5
6 SSN
6 Kalvari
6 Project 75I
Total - Just 25 Submarines.

The existing fleet of Shishkumar and Sindughosh belong to the 1980s and will have completed 50 years of design life by the mid 2030s and will be retired.
Russian leases will also end by then and we do not know if there will be any fresh lease.

STARTING TO GROW

Even as the Chakra returned to the USSR in 1991 western reports suggested that India had managedto induct a number of Russian specialists into its own indigenous nuclear submarine program6. The then editor of Jane’s fighting ships Richard Sharpe in 1995 noted that “The initial design strategy was to copy a leased Russian nuclear submarine (Charlie II) using an Indian built nuclear reactor for propulsion. The Russians are said to have provided detailed drawings of the leased submarine minus the reactor design 7 (providing reactor design details would have been a violation of the NPT)”

( so is there some clarity on the part that did we ourselves developed the reactors for N subs or it was the Russian who gave the tot? And after seeing the whole report because of USSR destroyed economy they were kinda forced to lease N sub to India)

Follow on program for p75i is to build 12 indigenous ssk. They should also start induction in the early 2030s. By 2040 we should have 25+ 12 == 37 submarine at the very least.

So you mean that we will leave our production lines empty of nuclear submarine , add some future program too , with growing budget , we will expand our legs too.

Nuke subs take much longer to build. Also older nuke subs will need to be maintained / upgrade in the meantime.

Our first 6 SSN might themselves only come by 2035.
Ofcourse we will build more later.

I personally think we will pick up faster building speeds after 2025 and may be building more indigenous ssk than what is now planned.

I just hoping that some new shipbuilders take place of small shipbuilders and in turn they grow , overall shipbuilding should grow .

Titagarh wagons are a new player can build Corvette easily
