Sir, you just made my day. My sincerest thanks.

On topic, 8 IR SLBM is a step closer to the global heavy weights. Arihant successsor will be a force to recon with MIRVed K-5. Though IMO, SSN project is somewhat heavy at 6k tonnes but probably for the best as it could mean limited redesigning of the hull. Parallel production is another great news. It's good to see that Sandeep is back in form.

sir, what's the status of second sub?
Guess work, about to be put in water.

BTW two other subs after arihant had 8 tubes that means about 8 X 3 = 32 nukes at sea in subsequent subs.

that is good enough to take out country or two.

hope after arihant class we go after bigger subs with 16-18 missile tubes.

INS Aridhaman also has 8 tubes for K-4 missiles or at least that's what the reports say.

So total of 24 (Aridhaman S3) 24 (S4)+12 (Arihant S2) nukes at max will be sub base. 60 nukes at sea, rest will be at land and for aircraft delivery.

The front area you mention is the where (under the metal skin) the primary sonar array is located. The vast majority of the hull is covered with anechoic tiles and special paint to reduce the sub's acoustic signature but the sonar dome has to have a different special coating applied to maximize the array's detection capability. In most designs you will see subtle color differences between the hull and sonar spaces but in this case the builders have chosen a high visibility tone perhaps since this is still an experimental vessel. We might see it changed for operational usage.
