what is the use of Gold or steel plated infront of the sub, will it reduce the stealth features of the sub!!!!!!

the gold area could be brass. It cannot be light as is falling on the black part of the submarine as well, so light cannot be the reason..

Yap, i know its a old artical but a good one which touches every espect of ATV and K-15.
I was a good read so i thought to share it here.

According to some freinds from IN, this Arihant would not go out for patroling for another 5years as it would be testbed for K-4 and other SLBMs and keep on modifying for integrating the missiles and testing them... even Brahmos SLCM would tested from the Arihant...

Who ever told you ' Steel plating ' is uneducated regarding Submarines..

Kilo class, And that is where sonar is located, that is not steel but a special metal from where sonar can emit sounds..
