The second indigenous SSBN Arighat, which is in advanced stages of sea trials, is scheduled to be commissioned within this year, though no official announcement has been made.

The most recent nuclear submarine which we had leased was INS Chakra (Akula class SSN), the submarine was sent back to Russia in June 2021. After that we didn't lease anymore nuclear powered submarines from any nation.

I don’t think we are gonna lease any more. We are trying to build our own nuclear attack submarines. We have nuclear ballistic submarines now. Next step is a nuclear attack submarine.
