... France offered to build for us for P75l. Tailored made for what our Navy asked near to 3T displacement with DRDO AIP. We can build 6 at our ship yards with ToT and learn know how for future indegenous Subs. This will be ideal step as we already operate scorpenes and gained some knowledge already...

That is exactly what we said (& expected) during project P75.

We don't even know about S4, how you could expect something on S5.

Now whether this is S4 or S3, that has to be seen. Even if it is S4, whether it has been out for trial or been deployed too is unknown yet. So leave alone knowing anything of their status. Be happy with what has been feed over on SM.

But I'd expect it to be sometime in 2022. Considering they built the shelter for it, which you'd only do once the sub is either already in the water or about to be slipped into water soon.

Something doesn't add up regarding S4.

S3 or INS Arighat was launched in Nov , 2017.
Last year just after the launch of INS Vagir at MDL, in a speech , Modi had brandished India's potential to be Atmanirbhar and our manufacturing potential. He had explicitly mentioned the successful launch of two indigenous subs that year despite the challenges of corona. I don't exactly remember which speech.

Now, one sub was the Scorpene class Vagir. What was the other one ?

It wasn't something which he had wanted to disclose. Our prime sevak was in his usual temperament and the do ' two ' sub figure just blurted out from his mouth.
I believe that boat was S-4 and the one launched in November was S-4*.
