According to Trishul blog we only make steel for warships and SSK's. Steel for SSBN's is still imported from Russia. Is it true?
Trishul blog/Sengupta is the biggest purveyor of lies in the Indian defence journalism industry. He works for FORCE magazine - interpret that . He calls everything desi as foreign. No one should give even an ounce of credibility to his claims without actual evidence.

There is no difference between SSK or SSBN steel, you can use any steel - the only thing is it will impact your test depth/corrosion rate. All Indian designed subs use DMR-249B grade steel formulated by DMRL, Hyderabad and manufactured by SAIL. We don't know what arihant uses as it was built a long time ago but all subs manufactured after 2009 including Arighat and it's successor use DMR-249B. DMR-249A is the surface ship variant that started production in 2008 and used in INS Vikrant, P17A, P28 and many other naval ships.

Can you tell about about steel used to manufacture tanks ?

Why would MDL order for an L&T design? Doesn't L&T have its own shipyard?
Likely that L&T only had the design contract to support SDB's design work with SDB holding the IP rights. MDL probably won the manufacturing contract. It could also be a combined L1/L2 contract, where L1 (lowest bidder) and L2 (second lowest bidder) manufacturers both manufacture a few subs each like GRSE/MDL are doing with the P17A. L&T could also be manufacturing a few subs we aren't hearing about.

That guy last year posted that su30's MC is still russian which is why its taking so long to integrate astra for the whole fleet and that only few test SU's have indian MC but infact one of the first domestic equipment su30 recieved was Indian MC.
Mc=mission computer

There is nothing special about contemporary tank steel - it is a standard high strength steel alloy rolled using a special technique of rolling to make it more homogenous called 'Rolled Homogenous Armour'. The other recent improvement is called High Nitrogen Steel where manufacturing technique results in more Nitrogen doping in steel resulting in increase in strength. RHA for all tanks manufactured in India inlcluding T-90 and Arjun Mk1 are supplied by SAIL and rolled into RHA at Midhani/OFB. For Arjun Mk1A, High Nitrogen Steel is expected to be manufactured by SAIL based on DMRL formulation.

OTO Melara is blacklisted, so I guess finally BHEL has been able to reverse engineer the 76mm SRGM which we used to acquire from OTO Melara.
I believe they are still licensed to manufacture those guns, and with Fincantieri eyeing to buy out OTO's gun business, who knows we might see them back in India helping us with their Sovraponte style 76mm and the 127mm guns.

From the nuke sub thread. Applicable to SSK's too.

BHEL Annual Report states that they delivered first indigenously developed Reserve propulsion motor and a 500 kW Main Motor Generator for submarine applications in 2020-21

BHEL is working with Navy to develop a Lithium-ion battery suite for submarine applications.

BHEL has developed a 350 kW reversible Permanent Magnet Synchronous propulsion unit which has successfully completed 2500 hours of endurance testing. ( Possibly a subscale prototype for SSK/SSN drive motor) 🤫

5mw tender for electric propulsion motor for retrofitting in a submarine was released some time back , a pump jet propulsion will be a brownie
