Yarmook class is what pakis can afford .they are only ordering two of them.they are not good in quality and quantity.so they are strategically not problem for our navy.

The correct comperasion would be Shaurya Class OPV and the NGOPV, Shanchi Class replacement OPV when compared to this the Yamrook dosent stand.

Malaysian coast guard damen 1800 opv (cost 56 milion ) vs samarth opv (cost 60 million) in 2017 which is more advance (from neutral point of view) . (pak (damen opv 1900 ( 2300 ton ). Goa shipyard samarth or damen shipyard opv 1800 which is more capable.

Why don’t we have a program for making 6 SSGNs? We should have as we can’t ignore Nuclear Cruise Missile submarines as they are a huge force multiplier. USS Georgia is an SSGN of 17k ton displacement and carries 154 Tomahawk Cruise missiles. Some similar submarines should be made in India and commissioned.

According to Trishul blog, First 4 boats will be SSGN's and S5 class will be true SSBN's.

Malaysian coast guard damen 1800 opv (cost 56 milion ) vs samarth opv (cost 60 million) in 2017 which is more advance (from neutral point of view) . (pak (damen opv 1900 ( 2300 ton ). Goa shipyard samarth or damen shipyard opv 1800 which is more capable.

Why not compare the Shaurya Class OPV with the Yarmook class. Despiet being 10 years old has better sea going capabilities and a little bit larger range.

Interesting question.

Superficially, both Yarmook and Saryu Class OPVs (Samarth class is a derivative of Saryu for ICG) are similar in appearance and capability. Saryu and Samarth are however larger ships. Aside from this the main difference in capability are;

- As commissioned, Yarmook and Tarbuk have barely any armament. Saryu on the other hand is equipped with a cool 76mm cannon and 2 x 30mm Cwiz. There are rumours though, that PN will upgrade its ships with weapons separately, thus transforming the ships into a patrol corvette. Lets see.

- Yarmook's design as a stern ramp for RHIB - its faster than deploying RHIBs from davits and I believe it also allows for a larger RHIB.

- To manage costs, PN has built these OPVs to commercial standards. Saryu is ofcourse built to naval standards which includes thicker/better quality steel.

Yes, Saryu class has a very optimal fit for a OPV. It's exactly the type of ship IN needs.
