Navy uses 12.7x99, Army uses 12.7x108. Makes sense right ?Why the navy using 50 cal when we produce NSV locally?

fuggin RFI for a fuggin mountRFI has been out for that. Soon we will order it.
FUnctionally speaking both are identical. 12.7x108 is lower pressure but bigger chamber, both bullets have same muzzle velocity/massAgain why 50 cal when we produce NSV. is M2 browning better in any way? I though 12.7x108 was better than 50 BMG(12.7x99).
So does tht mean 50 Cal is better for penetration. While 12.7x108 does more damage?FUnctionally speaking both are identical. 12.7x108 is lower pressure but bigger chamber, both bullets have same muzzle velocity/mass
Nah no difference at all. Same muzzle velocity and same caliber, for all intents and purposes same round. Just different powder loads and different case size, so they cant be used interchangeably. So does tht mean 50 Cal is better for penetration. While 12.7x108 does more damage? Maybe like comparing 5.56 and 7.62?
