Good one, I didn't know the Brahmos wala part...

Thanks for the info ....
This is a result of the lessons we learnt during Kargil when the US switched off GPS signals to make sure our guided missiles didn't work. At that time it was decided to start work on a passive navigation system that can work despite GPS ban, or in case of an attack on our own desi-GPS (IRNSS). From that moment on, all our guided systems use some sort of celestial guidance in combination with inertial navigation.

Expand India's Power to global level, get a permanent seat in UNSC and start doing bully in Indian Ocean and occupy all Brit and French controlled islands.
China claims SCS, why we can't at least bully IO?
That UNSC dream is bullshit as it will never get fulfilled by following the rules set by others. The only way to get it is to start breaking the paradigm. The UNSC is based on the premise of having only those nations without which the UNSC can't function. So, hypothetically let's say the 5 members make a resolution to invade Nigeria, but India doesn't like the idea and wants to protect Nigeria. Do we have enough military clout to render that 5-member resolution defunct by sending our military and stalling their plans? if yes then we can be 6th member else not. We must be powerful enough to make sure that we can impede their plans and no plan can be made a success if India disagrees. That is the criteria for UNSC membership.

India already impedes their many plans, doing nuke teats, building nuke sub's ICBMs, chemical weapons and defying sanctions on Iraq and Iran.

India's unofficial veto power is famous in the world. P5 sanctioned Iraq and Iran at different times but India defied them all and continued all trade and support. P5 nations could only watch and could do nothing else.
:peace:
Either India will get inside the security council or security council will lose it's Value.
India is already stronger than two UNSC nations(France and Britain) and will overtake remaining with time.
UNSC and EU will become distinctional and powerless like SAARC.

Agree with all of it, can you give me some context for the chemical weapons part? I am completely unaware about the status of our chemical weapons program. The official wikipedia report claims that we destroyed it. What's the truth?

We have lied before that we destroyed them but we were caught again red handed. :biggrin2:
Anyway, I f we will have even destroyed them, our pharmaceutical industry is enough large to produce enough to send our dear friends to a zombie era.

If all the clocks of a satellite is broken than is the satellite in space have any other task to do apart from calculating location

India set to boost drone ops through sat control

GSAT-7A Will Help UAVs Undertake Beyond Line Of Sight Missions

India is set for a quantum jump in the way it undertakes drone operations by upgrading from existing ground control stations to satellite-control of military unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to boost their range, endurance and flexibility.

This significant capability boost will come with the launch of GSAT-7A, an advanced military communications satellite built by Isro, in November. “The satellite is specially geared for RPA (remotely-piloted aircraft) operations,” said a defence ministry source.

The GSAT-7A, developed for IAF at a cost of around ₹700-800 crore, will be the country’s second dedicated military satellite after GSAT-7 or ‘Rukmini’ was launched for the Navy in 2013.

This comes at a time when India is in advanced negotiations with the US to acquire armed Predator-B or weaponised Sea Guardian drones, which are high-altitude, long endurance UAVs that can fire ‘Hellfire’ missiles or ‘smart’ bombs at enemy targets before returning to their bases to re-arm for the next mission like manned fighter jets.

Predator and Reaper armed drones used against Taliban targets in the Af-Pak region are controlled through satellites and flown by ground-based “pilots and weapon operators” at the Creech Air Force Base in Nevada (US) over 7,500 miles away. But Indian armed forces as of now control their Israeli-origin surveillance drones like the Heron and Searcher-II UAVs through a network of ground and shipbased stations, which limits their operations to ‘radio line of sight’ missions.

“With the GSAT-7A up in space in geosynchronous orbit, IAF will be able to hugely extend the reach, flexibility and endurance of its UAVs for beyond line of sight missions. The footprint of the satellite, with steerable beams, will cover India and its extended neighbourhood,” said a source.

IAF will get another satellite, GSAT-7C, within a couple of years to boost its network-centric operations. The force is also involved with the plan to launch an additional five satellites at a later stage to augment the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) or ‘NavIC’ project being put in place through a constellation of seven satellites to rival the US-owned Global Positioning System (GPS).

There are over 320 military satellites currently orbiting the earth, with the US owning 50% of them, followed by Russia and China. India, however, has lagged far behind in utilization of the final frontier of space for military purposes, refusing to even approve the long-standing demand of the armed forces for an Aerospace Command, as earlier reported by TOI.

The Indian armed forces for long have been largely using “dual-use” remote sensing satellites like the ‘Cartosat’ and ‘Risat’ series, while also leasing some foreign satellite transponders, for surveillance, navigation and communication purposes. China, in sharp contrast, has taken huge strides in the military space arena, testing even ASAT (anti-satellite) weapons against ‘low-earth orbit’ satellites since January 2007.

I wonder what the timeline for operationalizing the Ghatak (Aura) is? This would be a huge force multiplier.

NavIC

Initiatives towards introducing NavIC chip onboard smartphones have been undertaken to receive NavIC signals. Discussions with several mobile manufacturers have been initiated with regard to technical support as well as in terms of policy to expedite enabling mobile devices for receiving NavIC signals.

SRO, in conjunction with mobile phone OEM’s, is in discussions with major chip manufacturers like Broadcom, Qualcomm etc., to undertake development of chip to add NavIC capability across all ranges of mobile phones.

NEW DELHI: Global standards body 3GPP, which develops protocols for mobile telephony, has approved India’s regional navigation system NaVIC, developed by Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro).
The specification approval will boost commercial use of NaVIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation) by international and domestic mobile device makers, which means such manufacturers can now mass-produce navigation devices compatible with NaVIC so that users of these devices can easily access desi GPS or NaVIC signals.

US Congress consents to designate India's NAVIC as allied system | India News - Times of India

WASHINGTON: The US Congress has consented to designate India's NAVIC as its “allied” navigational satellite system along with the Galileo of the European Union and QZSS of Japan.
Approved as part of the conference report of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2020, it designates Russia's GLONASS and Chinese Beidou as a “non-allied system”. It means that the US satellite navigation system will not co-operate or exchange data with these two satellite navigation systems.

Launch of mobile chipset compatible to NavIC
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has provided consultation for Qualcomm towards enabling NavIC capability in their Snapdragon mobile chipset platforms. These chipsets are being released by Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. The release of chipsets will help accelerate the adoption of NavIC by smartphone OEMs. The OEMs can now release any new models for Indian market which are NavIC enabled, thus eventually making NavIC as a standard feature in the upcoming handsets, applications, processors, etc. It will also enhance the geolocation capabilities of smartphones within the coverage region of NavIC.
