Looks like its semi conductor packaging unit and not a fab. Still will be big win.

Instead of GJ , the fab should come near Hyd or Bangalore..since there is already a good number technical talent pool there also lots of engineering colleges .. Will take less time to get workforce ready to work in the fab labs.

They lost money today being unable to short sell
Like I said they took a short position. AdanI Ent just needs to power on. The short sellers would lose their dhotis. Let the markets and investors decide. Investors not only just look at a CA’s audited books but actual performance on the ground and the future prospects of a company including personal connections with AdanI himself. I am pretty sure that Hindenburg is going to lose its money here as AdanI gets preferential treatment from the government for strategic reasons. Investors know that. Do you think they care about shady transactions that happened a decade ago? Hindenburg is nuts.

We already have big Guys for India for some time.
1. TATA
2. Reliance
3. Adani

These guys always came to discussion when it comes to Opposition.

But we have big players who have say in governments like L&T which pretty much have large number of projects ranging from Highways to Defence Godrej group, Birla Group, Big Construction companies like AFCONS, DilipCon etc. Airtel, VI in Telecom and how GOI saved VI to have some competition. MSIL in automobile industry, our Bike manufacturers. Slow and steadily once semiconductor manufacturers will be shielded in coming years. This may include Vedanta group also if they setup some plant
Yes. Strategic sectors require companies and leadership you can trust. The government will make sure that the CEO and Board have big ties to India.

investor’s choice. It is their money and their business. I am sure they had a detailed appraisal of all sites.

While you are absolutely correct that its the investor's choice and that they would have done due diligence, I think that it would be extremely dicey to put sensitive projects in TN considering the prevailing political and social atmosphere. We don't need that additional risk, however small or large it is.

I don't invest in Adani EL because of their high P/E ratio, they way too over-valued. But that doesn't mean Adani is a scam, they have a solid business and have high value assets as well. Their EBITDA is growing twice as fast as their debt is.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has retained India’s FY23 growth forecast at 6.8%, terming the country a bright spot and major engine of growth amid an expected fall in global growth to 2.9% in 2023 from an estimated 3.4% in 2022.

At 6.1%, India to be fastest-growing economy, projects IMF; China at 5.2%

India remains the fastest-growing economy in the world with the current estimates surpassing overall growth in emerging and developing Asia.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday released its latest projections on world economic growth and predicted a dip in the Indian economy from 6.8 per cent in 2022 to 6.1 per cent in 2023. But India is expected to grow at 6.8 per cent again in the financial year 2024.

India to remain fastest growing economy in the world despite global slowdown: IMF
1 min read Updated: 31 Jan 2023, 09:38 AM IST
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said that it is expecting some slowdown in the Indian economy next fiscal year and projected the growth to 6.1 percent from 6.8 percent during the current fiscal ending March 31.
“Growth in India is set to decline from 6.8 percent in 2022 to 6.1 percent in 2023 before picking up to 6.8 percent in 2024, with resilient domestic demand despite external headwinds," said the IMF’s World Economic Outlook update.

India and China will account for half of the global economic growth in 2023: IMF
TIMESOFINDIA.COM / Updated: Jan 31, 2023, 09:40 IST
India and China will account for half of the global economic growth in 2023 versus just a tenth for the US and euro area combined, said the International Monetary Fund in its latest update to the biannual World Economic Outlook. The multilateral agency retained its growth forecast for Asia’s third-largest economy for 2023-24 (FY24).
The IMF on Tuesday released the January update of its World Economic Outlook, according to which the global growth is projected to fall from an estimated 3.4 percent in 2022 to 2.9 percent in 2023, then rise to 3.1 percent in 2024.
Leading the growth charge in 2023, India continues to be seen growing over 6% this year and next, while the upward revision of China by 0.8 percentage point sets it on track for growth above 5% this year.

Majority of Indian students are pursuing B.A/BSc, the share of B.tech falls.

This is not a good trend at all.

I don't know why people are still pursuing jobless courses like Bachelor of Arts, what's wrong with getting a Diploma/ITI?

Been seeing few of this discussions popping up in twitter recently that Modi is using Ambani/Tata and Adani to build huge conglomerates to push industrialization in India similar to how Japan and SK did it
While it's effective, these chaebols ended up having huge outsized influence in core governance in SK and JPN. Hope it doesn't happen in India.

SK is still in top in terms of R&D
It is.

But Samsung bringing in like 10-15% of the GDP gives them huge, huge control over governance of the country to the extent that it isn't really South Koreans or the GoSK running the country, but business interest of powerful Chaebols like a feudal system.

No, Samsung's revenue is equal to 17% of SoKo's GDP and it doesn't mean that Samsung 'contributes' 17% to SoKo's entire GDP.

Because most Btech courses in this country teach you nothing .. So it's a race to the bottom since all the student requires is a "graduate degree" and its the industry that does any skilling.

Worse. It seems they contribute to like 20% of the GDP. It is indeed that bad in SK.
