It's not our babus that I'm concerned about.
Can't find the source right now ... But there was some hand wringing in the UK during our FTA negotiations about how bechara bangladesh will be effected if the India UK deal goes through...
Use the Russia card with Europe.

If you expect India to go against Russia in the future and stand with EU, an FTA and better trade relations between India-EU are a must.

It's a fair argument.

I get that but it's a small factor IMO.
These guys only care about teh monies.
After all threat from china the germans still went to kiss Xis ring .
EU needs new markets cause china has finished absorbing most of their tech and is probably gonna dump them soon .. we need it cause it will help us compete with Vietnam for engineering goods and agriculture products and Bangladesh for textiles.

EU needs new markets cause china is screwing them on fronts .. we need it cause it will help us compete with Vietnam for engineering goods and agriculture products and Bangladesh for textiles.
It's a two-way street. An FTA between India-EU will be beneficial to both.

Russia thing is just a bonus

Top automobile exporting countries.

We have 9 billion worth export we can do better.

We have to challenge the likes of Germany and Japan.

Trucks, cars, farming, two wheelers you name it.

That is why Iook forward to when new High cc bikes gets launched. RS and NS series were quite famous in South America. Hope we can conquer the 300 to 500 cc range soon.

The only thing lacking from our Industries is R&D, Dominar uses KTM series engines its a good step altho JV. TVS RR310 uses BMW engines.

I have suggestion why don't we give tax breaks to Companies for every penny they spend on Hardware and Process R&D.
We need to use our IITs for good cause. Open R&D JV with IIT where they do new Research. Imagine every capable College having its own Research divisions where Companies invest in IP.

Agreed. 40-100% tariffs are bad.

But that can be mitigated a bit if EU companies are willing to manufacture in India.
That is the current state of affairs . But going by some of Piyush Goyal and gadkaris sound bytes they will protect the auto industry to the bitter end .. it is our largest "high tech" manufacturing sector. Cannot let this be effected badly .
But here's the thing .. tata and Mahindra etc lean heavily on their design houses in the EU.. heck Mahindra has one in turkey . If tarrifs are reduced I doubt our companies can compete as things stand in anycase.

I'm 100% sure tariffs won't be reduced. If EU wants car market access in India, they'll have to manufacture locally.

In order to grow with maximum efficiency we need to remove hurdles for MSME, MSME must be prioritized at all cost even if it requires change in labor and land.
You would be baffled to know that Bajaj and hero were importing their cranks from China. That aside composite rubber parts like mud flaps and mud guards. Now these aren't rocket science to make but due to stringent hurdles infront of MSME no one is able to put up a fair price to compete with China.

Making Big Industries would only take us so far we need Hundred Thousands of MSME without red tape.

The indian bureaucracy sucks blood of the weaker section of the society, until it is not stopped these things will continue.

IMPACT OF INDUSTRIAL POLICY ON SMALL SCALE INDUSTRIES ( SSI ) : AN EXPLORATORY STUDY ON INDIAN SSI ’ S 1

Tamil Nadu Success story.
If any one of you did electrical engineering course than you should be aware that most Instruments were from Tamil Nadu. These parts would have been imported from China or Thailand had the TN gov ignored small industries. TN gov support wasnt just monetary but multi dimensional, go through the study once.

If us folks want 10% + growth rate than we should make sure that the average businessmen does not have to Run from door to door of Sarkaari daftar for a Industrial transformer connection. This might not be true for your state but here in Bihar the SarkariNiggers are blood sucking the Mango Man.

Apple Inc. has accelerated plans to shift some of its production outside China, say people involved in the discussions. It is telling suppliers to plan more actively for assembling Apple products elsewhere in Asia, particularly India and Vietnam, they say, and looking to reduce dependence on Taiwanese assemblers… Apple’s long term goal is to ship 40-45% iPhones from India.”

The era of Social justice is long past people should be asking for economic justices and that isnt achived by asking for reservation, freebies or High taxation. We always get the core issues wrong.
People should be asking:
"Why isnt the road in my village built yet"
"Why isnt there 24 x 7 electricity availability"
"Why dont I get cheap loans for business"
"Why isnt there a SEZ in my district"
"What has gov done to support the regional crops and speciality".
"Why arent there any training institute in my district"
"Why isnt the training institutes output productive?"

Only SSI and MSME can bridge the gap between Rich and poor the current System is rigged towards the Rich.

My issue with this is...EU has shown it'll renege on every agreement and rules to get it's way. With slightest tension with Pakis, they'll use the FTA as leverage.

Royal Enfield is ripping up UK, US market with its 650cc range. In fact, I think it's the most sold for 2-3 years in UK market now. Dealers have months long waitlist for new RE bikes in Aus, US etc.

Both Royal Enfield and BSA (Mahindra) are gaining major footholds in high cc bike markets.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday said the government would not abandon the Vizhinjam seaport project, which has been facing fierce protests from fishermen, come what may.

“If the project is abandoned, it would badly damage the credibility of the state,” Vijayan said while addressing a government function here.
Referring to the fishermen protest against the construction of Vizhinjam International Seaport Limited (VISL), which is spearheaded by the clergy of the Latin Catholic Archdiocese of Thiruvananthapuram, the Chief Minister said, “This move (the agitation) is not against the government. This is to thwart the progress and unity of the state. That would not be allowed even if the protest comes in any attire. Don’t think that the government can be threatened. The Vizhinjam port would happen.”
Vijayan said when the LDF government came to power in 2016, construction of the port had gone ahead significantly. “There would be differences between the LDF and UDF on policies. But if a government abandons a project commenced by a previous government, nobody would come to invest in our state. The government has addressed six out of seven demands of the agitating fishermen, but the demand that the project should be suspended cannot be accepted,’’ he said.
Vijayan also came down heavily on the remark of Catholic priest Theodacious D’Cruz, who said there is a terrorist in the name of state Fisheries Minister V Abdurahiman. “How can a minister be called a traitor for the reason that his name is Abdurahiman. Where we are heading to. They want to destroy the peace and harmony of the state,’’ the Chief Minister said.

The priest, who is the convener of the anti-seaport protest committee, had made the remark in response to the minister’s comment that the protest against the seaport is a treason. Police on Wednesday had registered a case against D’Cruz, who had tendered an apology.

On Thursday, the minister refused to entertain the priest’s apology, saying, “The society at large would not accept his apology. Kerala is a land of religious harmony and let the law take its course.”

Meanwhile, Opposition leader V D Satheesan accused the government of provoking the protesters but said there was no place for any violence. “The government had provoked the protesters by registering the case against the bishop and other priests. The government wanted to convert the protest into a riot and protesters as terrorists. The fishermen were seeking rehabilitation, but Vijayan wanted to depict it as terrorism,’’ he said.
Referring to CPI (M) daily Deshabhimani’s report that the agitation has terror links, Satheesan said it is deplorable to dub the agitators as terrorists. “The party daily has published photographs of nine persons as the conspirators behind the violence. One of them is the brother of Transport Minister Antony Raju. Let the minister make it clear whether his brother has terror links as the CPI (M) daily alleged. Another photograph is that of a priest who had publicly campaigned for Antony Raju and CPI (M) legislator Kadakampally Surendran during the last Assembly elections. Pinarayi is behaving like Modi, who had depicted the protesting farmers as urban Naxals and Maoist,’’ said the Congress leader.
Weird politics here, Center (BJP), Kerala's Communist party and even the Muslim community have come together probably for the first time in history against the Christian lobby here!

The project will remain and will get completed at fast rate.

Bangladesh's exports keep rising while ours is falling. Weird, i thought there was a recession

You dance between Absolute no and percentage as per your convenience.

Here the export is just $5B and even $1B increase will make it like 20% increase. So, you resort to using % to show how well they are doing and how bad we are doing.
