Finally .. Now do it for all sectors please.
right now focus is on resilient supply chains for specific sectors, the sectors they are going to focus on can be gleaned from policy documents of India,Australia and US. maybe even japan, since there is a language barrier can't confirm.

U.S too has started focussing on pharma as recently as two months back, as in their lawmakers have started thinking in that direction. whenever they reach a consensus we know for sure they will outspend us, so it is important we have a early start to have some sort of edge.

Regardless .. There is a high need for govt funded with private sector executed research.
Take most developed countries .. all have govt subsidised / funded R&D schemes.
And IMO having any cutting edge research happen in our country will reduce brain drain ..
For many people in non IT industries who I know, their only way of advancing their careers is to move abroad.

Incase this helps, i haven't been tracking updates, so don't know the current status.

National Research Foundation is the vehicle thru which this will happen.

China didn't reject India from RCEP, India rejected RCEP.
First of all, from the beginning, it was South East Asian/Japan wanted India to join to balance Chinese power.
Then, India wanted a better deal (longer transition period, higher tariff, etc) for herself alone, Chinese said NO.

No, those were not the issues, major issues were in Agri and dairy protection, auto-trigger mechanism to raise tariffs on products when their imports crossed a certain threshold and most importantly to exclude most-favoured nation (MFN) obligations from the investment chapter.

MFN status in investment chapter would have allowed China to invest in even those Indian sectors that govt consider sensitive. With current border scenario, no way govt. would have gone ahead with those.

Btw, since the RCEP signing chinese govt. has urged India multiple times to join RCEP.

USA is currently trying to build a supply chain less dependent on chinese supplies and EU will follow suit after Russian-Ukraine war. How far will they succeed, no one knows. But it will be specially interesting to see how US achieves to include ASEAN in its supply chain by excluding China.

A very good write up from Chinese POV. India stands to take away entire supply chain whereas Vietnam is a transhipment hub for Chinese exports.

Pushpam Priya Chaudhary..
What's the ideology of their party ? Are they another leftist party or are they like Liberal Democrats in UK (Economically Center right and socially liberal) ? If its the 2nd, then good. We don't have any party in that space in India.
