For a highly competitive country like ours with wafer thin margins, more credit is only half the answer.
We need cheaper credit and stringent monitoring of funds utilization by large borrowers.

A couple of big, bad borrowers are enough to empty the pond.

Interest rates for borrowers are still between 7.5-16%. Non bank interest rates are a lot higher at 36-48% pa.

In his reply, the minister cited the reasons for Bihar's poor performance as follows:


* A high proportion (33.74 per cent) of the population lives below the poverty line, and as high as 52.5 per cent suffers from multidimensional poverty


* Only 12.3 per cent of households have any usual member covered by a health insurance


* As high as 42 per cent of children under five years of age are stunted, which is the highest in the country


* It has the lowest literacy (64.7 per cent) in the age group of 15 years and above


* The state has the highest Pupil Teacher Ratio (PTR) at secondary level (class 9-10) at 58, while the India average is at 21


* It has the lowest Gross Value Added (constant prices) in agriculture per worker (in Lakhs/worker) at 0.29


* The state also has the lowest mobile tele-density (50.65 per 100 people) and lowest number of internet subscribers (30.99 per 100 people).

Sometimes I do think there must be an anti India voice in Bihar too.

The very first step of improving the the state should be law and order, but that is a herculean task way more complex than anyone here on this forum can understand.
Each and every department has corruption whether it he ration, construction or paper and pen tender.
The south is hit with Militant Naxalites to quite and extent, having one of the NH passing through this area people can't reap the benefit of it.

Biggest Reason is of course Nitishwa Ganjedi. I think People of Bihar should go for changing the gov Evey 5 years from BJP+JDU to RJD it's the only option left.
There is no one like Yogi from Bihar that BJP can bet upon. To Run Bihar u need to be Chanakya level strategist nothing less will cut.

You have to keep in mind the fact that if a murder occurs in Maharashtra or Tamil Nadu its more likely to get reported than in Bihar and UP that's genrally why western countries have higher rates of sexual assualts cases than India because they generally report their cases whereas we like to keep it hush hush

Can murder go unreported? I don’t think so I am not talking about sexual assault or Eve teasing as it may go unreported but how can murder go unreported? It doesn’t matter whether it’s India or the west a murder will always get reported sexual assaults may go unreported in India or sometimes even in west
