As the speed increase the cost also increases proportionally. Don't u think that it will prevent this project from materialising.
Ya'll Nibbiars economy of scale, higher speed, higher frenquency, higher efficency at long distance. Already a tested in many countries for the high priority item's.

Here's a business idea for a pro BJP entrepreneur who has some land: Start a camp that mimics conditions when in 70s-80s. I'd build a mock village where people have to live for month. Every morning make everyone stand for milk with bottle, ration lines for anything you need Power should go 6 times a day you are forced to beg the electrician and phone man for fixing your lines. Oh yes you can only get a landline if someone who lived in that house 5 years back has applied applied for one.

People should get a chance to live in the conditions that we were subjected to. Because people have gotten used to comforts very quickly and have forgotten why Modi was needed.

Ya'll Nibbiars we need to develop our own High Speed Rail technology can't depend on the other's forever and can't implement the foreign Technology on the large scale. B. Rajaram the person behind the SkyBus metro which was dismantled by the idiot's once proposed the Aerotrain capable of almost the airlines speed but as usual we see only the foreign Technology not the indeginious one's. Going crazy over the Hyper loop but not developing our own. Even countrie like Poland are developing their own Hybrid Maglev Conventionl High Speed Rail's.

India needs to continue to expand its market.In the past five years, India's mango exports have declined year by year. Thailand mainly exports to China, the largest importer, and Mexico exports to the United States, the second largest importer.

Having a technology by itself means nothing, it's the marketability of the tech that matters. and marketability would mean framing a strategy taking the odds into account.

There was Indian guy who invented X-Ray machine which prints Xray on A4 sheet paper, now i am not able to find the guy on google. recent invention less than 2 decades old.

Tech was developed by the railway itself, but the same railway was not using it.

I thought this tech is implemented now ,well this article is 9 years old , would have been better ,many lives would be saved

my contention is with the principle that just because railways developed some tech Supreme Court should mandate it’s use.

Only exception being tech of strategic nature, for regular commercial tech seeking such judicial intervention demonstrates lack of understanding of market economics.

The way modi govt handled similar issues is much better than going to courts. Modi govt brought such issues under national security framework in this case economic security & supply chain reliability, which ensures a whole of govt approach to tackle such issues, case in point Train 18.

Train 18 was a good design but somewhat rushed ,need some more polishing in it

What about the new Variant is it still going to happen or discarded , and the one named train 20 , was supposed to be aluminum based ,faster with speed of 200 km ph


I would like to ask , why don't we do some land acquisition and straighten up the curves while repairing the tracks of important section , will help increasing speed , also as we are now using better rail tracks , and one teat track is coming up in Rajasthan , shouldn't we start preparing for train speed above 250 kmph on existing track , more than that is not possible not required , but this speed will be enough to chain our transportation sector , not all trains need to be high speed

Ya'll Nibbiars Dream of this only Hover Jet Train Top speed 800 Km with less Aero drag and low noise. Atleast not possible in near future in India when we are unable to implement the Bullet trains on time and dont give that Mumbai Ahmedabad rail. That's other topic even the Mumbai Hyderabad rail is not getting off due to beauractic Problem's.

Hovertrain is largely considered a failed idea.

Ya'll Nibbiars now with the current technology it's much cheaper to implement and maintain than the conventional HSR, Maglev and Hylerloop.
Why you want 800 km type train today ,yeah research Should be started but for present we should start our work on 250 km on existing tracks that's feasible , possible and might be persued

Train 20 was merely a concept. It was never a serious project. The aluminium coach project you are talking about is different. MCF is still on it in collaboration with a Korean company named Dawonsys (sorry if I misspelt).

Ya'll Nibbiars we are not working on 250 Km per hour Lines but with 200 km Tops Speed Train set that will have service limit's of 130 Km.

Tracks permitting, service limit is 90% of tested speed.
Ya'll Nibbiars most of our lines can only sustain 130 km speed service. And above that tear and wear.

Train 20 was merely a concept. It was never a serious project. The aluminium coach project you are talking about is different. MCF is still on it in collaboration with a Korean company named Dawonsys (sorry if I misspelt).
Also iirc MCF coaches will have a speed limit of 200+ kmph however will be capped to 160 -180 kmph once operational. The ICF claimed that with minor modifications train 18 can run at 200+ kmph and those are being considered for Pune-Nashik semi HSR.
