What about Vizhinjam port that can accommodate large ships which is deep sea port. After this Ships dont need to go to columbo in SL.
Ships will still go to Colombo.
That's why the company who is developing Vizhinjam is the one who is interested to build terminal in Colombo port.
The above doesn't mean Vizhinjam will not be profitable.

Ships bound to india will go only to vizhinjam ,after completion , coulombo wil serve other areas ,not our ships , coloumbo was olanned by adani for international trade , and to serve eastern side of peninsula .

Physical infrastructure is a part of it. Policies are second and ecosystem is third.
Singapore cannot be replaced even if Malaysia and Indonesia develops even more deep water ports. Although those ports will be profitable on their own.
Similarly Colombo has already established itself.
Not just India, hub and spoke model is used for transshipment to Bangladesh as well.
Trade volume of Bangladesh is about 3.5 million TEU annually and about 100 MMTPA cargo.

They too want to build deep water port ( Matarbari) to reduce the transhipment of goods but I doubt the hub and spoke model will any time go out of business.

It can not pass through Kolkata it has to pass through Siliguri corridor for seamless road and rail connectivity
Ya'll Nibbiars I am talking about their and we don't have money to spend when we don't even have enough to spend within our boundaries.
