escaped from poverty into what ? Statistics is a great tool to fiddle around with. Indeed a lot of people have escaped poverty but not into prosperity, rather into a state of vulnerability where they risk falling back into poverty incase of a major crisis. This is what we are witnessing right now.
If a large number of people aren't prospering every year, there would no increasing middle class.

Stats aren't about fiddling, it's the quantification of the claim which supports far better action plan than the mindless emotional rants and baseless claims in your garbage (sorry) post.

It goes with India holding a large no. of AI patents, having more advanced industries and job opportunities (doesn't matching with skill is a different case since lack of "opportunity" is a facade for unfit), Indian strain of COVID being stronger which even caused oxygen shortages initially (statistically same issue resolved for now), hunger index being over underweights in India than starving (since Indians are likely vegetarians) or Pakistani expressways being a liable commodity (India actually starting expressways in 2017 and to create 20,000 kms of them in one go in a decade against Pak's 2200). Tamil Nadu axed a large number of genuine R&D and infrastructure over unproven theories of environment which otherwise are showing up in eastern India. Further for COVID, India's neighbors are just not low in testing, they can't identify the strain.

India most certainly doesn't have living standards upto world average. But it isn't a failed fragile sh*thole what an "aam admi" cliché protestor loves to shout. It's a country in transition.
And don't go into or assume me in a political way. Ooh this, ooh that, look China, looks west, look SL, look Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Got a new stroke of shoving "can't provide basic things like oxygen" in every damn argument like an idiot (sorry again). Just read that damn argument up till end.

It's not mindless and emotional, it's peddling a standard narrative that you see in other places.

A narrative needs at least few one sided stats or facts and is a political weapon used by parties on both sides of political spectrum.

Emotional rants meanwhile don't change minds. They just make other people even more pissed!

Except the Myanmar’s junta is in between. These asses won’t develop themselves and won’t let others develop either as they fear they will lose “power” whatever that means for them. The neighborhood curse we face is immense. We are better off moving goods by ship from Kolkata port to Singapore any day. Overland route has been stuck forever. And who knows , just like Irans, Myanmarese might sign a multi billion deal with the Chinese and then kick india out of the IMT highway citing slow progress, or at least demand a ransom from us to use that highway. Maybe a Quad bank is needed to finance and complete all these “balance China” infra projects quickly. Jaishankar needs to bo berserk to get these EAM funded projects completed in double time.

Top selling pickups (Bakkies) in South Africa in 2020. Mahindra's Scorpio PikUP is at #6. Note Chinese auto companies are not on the list. This despite Skorpio PikUP priced 50% higher than the Chinese one. Goes to show Indian products beat Chinese ones where quality, branding, service, and simply the art of doing business matters.

Myanmar and ASEAN countries are mostly Buddhist they visit Buddhist sites in Bihar in huge number
1 million foreign tourists visit Bihar every year and most of them are Buddhist so once they start using this highway it will be very difficult for even junta to stop it because Bodhgaya to Buddhists is what Mecca to Muslims

These days the junta has no problems shooting and even killing Buddhist monks revered in their country. Buddhist monks were so sacred that they were the only group the military ever listened to. Of late, all that has changed - they are going after the monks too. The IMT highway connecting Moreh to a point deep inside Myanmar is supposed to be completed this year. Let’s see.

India Second Largest Insurtech Market in APAC: S&P Global

IBEF: May 19, 2021

According to S&P Global Market Intelligence data, India is the second largest insurance-technology market in Asia-Pacific, accounting for 35% of the US$ 3.66 billion in insurtech-focused venture investments made in the country.

In Asia-Pacific, at least 335 private insurtechs are operative, with 122 of them reporting a total of US$ 3.66 billion in capital raised through private placement transactions.

According to a survey by S&P Global Market Intelligence, China and India present nearly half of all private insurtech companies in the APAC region, attracting > 78% of all investments.

Due to their massive and rapidly rising insurance markets, the two markets will continue to attract the largest share of investor interest, according to the report.

India accounted for 35% of the US$ 3.66 billion in insurtech-focused venture capital invested in the APAC region. The country has at least 66 insurtech companies.

S&P Global Market Intelligence fintech analyst, Mr. Sampath Sharma Nariyanuri said, "India is attracting insurance technology investment since it is one of the world's fastest-growing insurance markets.”

He added that in FY20, Insurance premiums in India totalled US$ 107 billion for the 12 months ended March 31, 2020, up 10% from FY15.

According to the survey, tech companies including as Tencent Holdings, Ant Group Co Ltd., Amazon.com Inc, and Grab Holdings Inc will have an impact on the region's insurtech ecosystem.

Alliances with popular lifestyle and e-commerce platforms could be vital for scaling for technology businesses seeking customers online.

While huge internet companies compete to become insurance's digital intermediaries, established carriers are developing their own digital channels. Start-ups that help both incumbents and major tech companies make this transformation are likely to succeed.

Government takes historic pro-farmer decision of hiking fertiliser subsidy

Subsidy on DAP fertiliser hiked by 140%

PM Narendra Modi chaired a high level meeting on the issue of fertiliser prices. A detailed presentation was given to him on the issue of fertiliser prices.

It was discussed that the price of fertilisers is undergoing an increase due to the rising prices of phosphoric acid, ammonia etc internationally. PM stressed that farmers should get fertilisers at old rates despite the international rise in prices.

A historic decision was taken to increase the subsidy for DAP fertiliser from Rs. 500 per bag to Rs. 1200 per bag, which is an increase of 140%. Thus, despite the rise in international market prices of DAP, it has been decided to continue selling it at the older price of Rs.1200 and the central government has decided to bear all the burden of price hike. The amount of subsidy per bag has never been increased so much at once.

Last year, the actual price of DAP was Rs 1,700 per bag. In which the Central Government was giving a subsidy of Rs. 500 per bag. So the companies were selling fertilizer to farmers for Rs 1200 per bag.

Recently, the international prices of phosphoric acid, ammonia etc. used in DAP have gone up by 60% to 70%. So the actual price of a DAP bag is now Rs 2400, which could be sold by Fertilizer companies at Rs 1900 after considering a subsidy of Rs 500. With todays decision, farmers will continue to get a DAP bag for Rs 1200.

PM remarked that his Government is committed to the welfare of farmers and will take all efforts to ensure that farmers do not have to face the brunt of price-rise.

The Central Government spends about Rs 80,000 crore on subsidies for chemical fertilisers every year. With the increase in subsidy in DAP, Government of India will spend an additional Rs 14,775 crore as subsidy in Kharif season.

This is the second major decision in the farmers’ interest, after directly transferring Rs. 20,667 crore in Farmers’ account under PM-KISAN on the day of Akshay Tritiya.

Looking at progress of jal jeevan mission.

4 crore 18 lakh household have been supplied with tap water connection in just 1.5 years.
Total 19 crore household ( rural) is targeted. Overall 7 crore plus household are already covered .

Funny thing is Bihar has better tap water supply coverage than Kerala . Lol.

Man the govt spends too much on farmers.

Until and unless the system is changed and new techniques and laws brought in huge sums of public money will continue going into a bottomless pit for no reason.

Farm reforms aimed at doing the same, but then Punjab is a VIP.
