India uses low crude prices to stockpile 32 million tonnes of oil - Times of India

NEW DELHI: India has stored as much as 32 million tonnes (mt) of oil in underground storages, tanks, pipelines, and on ships to create a stockpile using low global oil prices to its advantage, petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Monday.
India is the world's third-biggest oil importer and is reliant on foreign nations to meet 85 per cent of its oil needs.

Indian should do either option or forward contract for the purchase of Crude oil.

A less cynical and very (too?) optimistic piece

It is very nice to see that Modi has finally has adopted the line which I have been recommending for a long time. A huge country like India can not keep on importing everything ranging from Pencil cell to Fighter plane. We must forcefully stop all imports which we can make in India no matter whether they cost a bit high to end user. This foolish policy of Importing everything has cost us a lot. Just few days back , I had argued and advocated this in my article.

For those wondering if there's an Indian alternative to MS Office, Google docs, drive etc., its ZOHO Office. its Chennai based company, their office products are quite good (and free too). To add icing on the cake, the founder of the company was in controversy in past for supporting RSS 😍..you know what to do bois!

yup..so while they are ready to feed the MSME and what ever.. the tax payer will foot the bill... Shall we expect my taxes to increase in near term... Money for feeding honest shop owners have to come from somewhere...

and than we have big industrial houses as well in line.... they always forget basics.. consumption is driven by middle class.. unless he put money in their pocket.. He can issue as much stimulus..nothing will happen... Likes of Biggies will simply hoard cash and sit on it and wait for oppurtunity sacking the employees...

Lots can happen. Reason? lower/middle class aspirations. I know a maid who has subscribed to expensive Byju tutions for her son, for no reason other than 'its what everybody is doing nowadays'.

Growth happens when people buy things they do not need, with money they do not have.

Zoho is a true outlier. For starters, they operate out of places like tenkasi and renigunta out of offices that used to be abandoned factories, etc.
Not really. There are many Indian product companies bigger than Zoho doing good work. It's mostly headquartered in Chennai though, the tenkasi campus is tiny.

The need of the hour is to save the MSME if govt has vision for self reliance its going to be done by MSME the same ones who were put out of business by the chinese dumping in last 10 years . Second MSME also makes chunk of the labour workforce which gives employment . Govt is just trying to make sure they don't go kaput once they go then the spiral down effects will be huge unemployment crisis .

Salaried class always kept its expectations way high and always end up disappointing when they get nothing . Country is not just run on salaried class Tax money (i being one of those salaried class) Taxes are paid by MSME and Even big corporate's.

There is someone who is taking bigger risk to get loan and run a business and give employment the focus should be on such employment generators.

Dear Capain,

If these MSME were efficient and competitive , they would have survived the chinese on slaught and flourished in a competitive environment but that did not happened b,cause they have been a product of license raj. they are used to somebody putting the food in their mouth and help chew them .

As for employment generation goes, they already have big enough market to compete and sustain but instead they are always looking for dols... untill how far govt can hand hold and feed them on the expense of us. they are doing no favor by employing 5-10 people... they too need them as badly ... so let us cut this emotional scenario of being employment generators....

Reason salaried class keep high hopes is because they are the first one to tolerate everything and they get Zero in return...
