Total BS Tweet (stuffs like these shd immediately invite a PM gulag cess for motivated rumor mongering). Gormint is doing stuff like this;

They brought a deeptech policy and proposed research linked incentives for AI/deeptech in the interim budget. Ain't no way, they are going to 'kill' homegrown start-ups - especially since, MEITy, the Ministry under consideration, is known for its light touch approach to tech companies. MEITy was also bitterly opposed to the updated taxation policies adopted against the fantasy gaming platforms (read betting apps) and is fighting back aginst the FinMin.

The said approval is not even mandatory and atm, metely an advisory of sort. It targets Big Tech and Big Tech only. The least these 'commentators' and 'entrepreneurs' could do is to shut up because clearly, they cannot read between the lines and has no idea how the GoI functions.

MEITy is locked in an ongoing tussle with Google over their play store policies as I write this. It does not take one to be a rocket scientist to understand GoI's stand.

Similar rumor mongering and negative PR was unleashed back when the GoI released the draft data sharing policy and proposed the digital rights bill. Sadly, the incumbent government got shit scared (after phoren media started publishing articles after articles detailing how the proposed policy of keeping the data of Indian users confined to India was a non starter and how it would affect investments worth US$ 12362786938 billion annually) and backtracked.
good move but not enough , govt should also cut down import duty/ gst on gpus or any hardware for machine learning .

people here would know how new cards from nvidia would cost both kidneys and half liver .for future of nation important that all nvidia/amd gpu be tax free 😅

Their antics do raise one important point though - we did not invest enough to create our own LLMs and (more generally) our own tech giants and hence, are left playing catchup. As someone has already pointed out on this thread, our conditions are not too different from those EU nations - who, just like us, are struggling to regulate big tech.

Sure, that was the real dealbreaker lol.....there is no record of India creating any tech product so far that has market significance or domination or name brand beyond coolie service work. This speaks the attitude of both companies as well as govt policy at all levels. Total chootiyas across the board. LLM's or Quantum, odds are next to negligible that we catch on any wave....its too late already.

BS man, you can rent enough via cloud providers than using your own. Excuses, just no real talent or execution capabilities. I am speaking from experience, bozos are occupying lead and decision making positions. People with skill are totally being restrained by substandrd bastards of both genders that just keep talking and nothing else. Dead culture and greed, lack of talent and rotten system in both public and private especially in IT space.

No fuckin way.. Why dont you sit down and think about its outcome.

The clause (if true) is not just about N.E. facial features but stresses on christianity religion too. If we allowed such migration, we will be playing in the hands of conversion mafia. Unlike Ricebag or one time monetory help, There would be a massive incentive of permanent job if they convert into christianity.
Let alone the outcome, the fact that someone in this day and age has such a mentality speaks volumes about their society.Taiwanese are not the innocent type they pretend to be.

In fact, all the East Asians and our dear Friend Russia and their adversary Ukraine are among the most venomously racist people in the world.

NO need to be that woke, human's are inherently group minded....do we want African's or whites or some other race to come to India or even BD's and Pakis in a similar situation? Same with US and EU and everywhere else.....their country and its their choice. Whether our country will acknowledge this nonsense officially or unoffcially and entertain this bs is a different matter....no need to finger point to them. Taiwanese are worse than Chinese mainlanders in thought process, anyone that licks foreigners generally develop these traits like Pakis and others around us who converted....

This reminds me of another episode, read it somewhere. Decades back one GCC government, i think Bahrain, wanted Indians in its police force. They were specific about "Indian Muslims". Indira Gandhi is reported to have said "India is a secular country & we cannot discriminate on basis of religion". Post this Bahrain went to Pakistan & now tonnes of Pakis (many became citizens) serve in Bahrain National Guard/police/MOI (Interior ministry).

true , thats only viable solution i know some rick kids who spend lakhs on these things but its out of reach for most people . there is also free access to cloud gpu , but its via google .

there is the govt plan to build a cloud with 25k gpus , gods know when this thing will become reality . i read on a forum that after US banned China from buying ai gpus , chinese started buying gaming gpus - they take off the gpu chip and put them on their own boards.

in any case , some concession on tax/import duty is still needed on these things .

Not really true, most of it is theory and ideation and then comes leveraging the hardware strengths and optimizations. Generally these things are coming out from academic more than individuals, even those that did it dropped out of their universities but the ideation starts that way. I call bs if someone says they need a cheap gpu so they can build an llm at home.....even if you get gpu's you will be constrained by other things such as power, ac, network and so on. There is simply very little coming out of academic institutions on the forefront side not to mention private IT companies are just glorified 4th grade labour companies.

Indira Gandhi did the right thing, except stating the secular part. She could have just said all Indian citizens regardless of ethnic lines but offspring of Nehru got to have some faults but she had balls vs most others to take some bold decisions.

Do watch this video, see the skewed standards rating agency applies on India.
For India they consider judiciary, civil society as parameters for giving India ratings and everything is not based on GDP growth.
Wonder why same standards are not applied to autocracies like china and kingdom cms of middle east. The discussion regarding rating criteria comes in last half of video.

western media propagates false narratives against India and basis of this agenda western institutions formulates policies.

this is all done intentionally, both western goberments and rating agencies have good knowledge on the extreme freedom of expression and protest also the woke judiciary in India bit still to push US deep state agenda on India these things are done.

only solution is openly call out these false narratives on their faces through Indian media and nationalist netizens and Indian Govt should keep doing what is best for India

Met him at event, heard he was in india from the past 25 years, promotes business here.
all these so called think tank appointees are identified and groomed from colleges in USA and as per education placed on important political posts in different embassies.
They are not good or bad their only agenda is control communication flow identify gaps and feed CIA machinery to work on policies to take care of a potential rival in future.
sometimes they are activated for sabotage based on the need.

yes, if i remember correctly he was working on India since early 2000's.

-his talking points made sense in early modi years, because they were premised on UPA's track record.
-after jan dhan accounts and demonetisation, it was clear that modi's thinks very differently on economy, his talking points started to diverge from ground reality.
-during trump years, he would insert human rights into economy related convo out of context, indicating ideological compulsions.
-inspite of all minor and major reforms of modi govt, he still focusses only on his own score card to rate modi govt. it's arrogant to think that a continent sized country is to be judged based on an individual's score card.
-after covid, even his FDI talking point started making little sense, since domestic retail investors are supplementing fall in FDI. there by fall in FDI is not effecting GDP growth.

which makes me assume, he has a specific assignment, and he is very reluctant to go beyond his mandate.
