Stop taking him seriously. He got his money burned that why reacting like this.

If he has his way, then he will end up selling you and your soul both.
From what i know, Ashneer is invested in Dreams11 and have won court cases on nature of business...Basically Dream11 is not classified as Game or gambling but a skill based industry.

I don't care for him .. it is the retrospective taxation which he is highlighting.. IMO , it is wrong to tax some body in the past when rules were not there...

Haven't most of the industrial cluster moved out of Mumbai already the crowd you see at peak hours is mostly service based employees. Ride a Panvel - CST train and see the affect the mills closing had on that area it really seems that area never recovered. All the factories seem to be now in Badlapur/Ambernath
MIDC is still in Andheri. That needs to move out. Most of the traffic is for Andheri and BKC. But the real long term solution is to be able to house workers mostly near their work areas. Tech companies setup in areas where this is possible. But slums are obstructing things in Mumbai. It takes up land in a way cross roads cannot be built, additional rail lines cannot be laid, land cannot be reclaimed etc. Slums , besides the environmental and health damage they cause ,also makes living and transportation costs expensive for everyone else. Slums must be reduced and reclamation of coastal lands must be done with an iron hand - No fishermen bs.

yes. Retrospective taxes are extre bad for investor confidence. Very bad. Even after Vodafone, Cairn debacle, IT department is still doing it. SMH.

I hope Gujarat is selected. Until Stalin and his cronies are evicted from office, I would not promote any business in that state until a hindu friendly government is elected into office.
Ya'll Nibbiars It's not going to happen Vin don't have a pai to do this.

Quarterly loss of that scam company is 5 times their revenue, it will collapse under its own weight.

agree with this 100% - retrospective tax creates so many doubts in investors minds, they dont touch it at all.

imagine getting your salary in 2015 and in 2023, govt inceases tax for 2015 and now says you have to pay more money because govt decided now in 2023. this is just extortion.

Feel like if a particular company or a sector grows too fast those companies get tax slapped on them. These apps grew very fast in the pandemic and now are getting taxed to hell. It's a crime to grow fast in India it seems outside of the traditional sectors

Spot on

......

Whatever we compare Manufacturing Base, Skilled Labor, Infrastructure, R&D and technology etc. in all these area India is far better compared to China of 90s and early 2000s.

.......

And this idiot is comparing over built high speed rail network and expressway, which are mostly Non-productive investments and a huge problem china is facing, calling it a disadvantage India is simply stupid.
Really?
Manufacturing base
steel Electricity Motor Vehicle
China (2003) 232m 1910 twhs 4.4m
India (2022) 125m 1850 twhs 5.5m

Skilled Workers: does people really believe India get more skilled labor than China in 2003?

Infrastructure: in 2003, China had 68700km railway, in 2022 India's railway length was 68043km.
in 2003, China had 25200km expressway, in 2022 India has 3629km expressway.

R&D: in 2001, China had 70,676 scientific journal articles, India had 149,213 in 2020.

So, basically, in technologies and R&D, India is better than 2003's China. But other area, not so much.

But the point is: today's India is not competing with 2003's China or 2003's Vietnam, Thailand, etc.
