Where do you think this plant will come up? They were already hinting at a second factory in gujarat for a few years. Their existing factory (taken over from GM) is close to full capacity. So i am surprised that they are now saying they are searching for a new location. Will be a big failure for the current Guj BJP government if the second plant runs away to another state

That's why India needs to keep its head down and work on economy, getting pulled into uneccesary stuff for next 10-12 years is not good for us. Heck, even China started their wolf warrior diplomacy prematurely, if they had waited 10-15 years, would perhaps been able to achieve self sufficiency in techs like chips and might even have been able to separate US and EU on issue of China.
While I agree with the sentiment, the West has already seen what happens when an outlier becomes too powerful. So they won't be making the same mistakes that they did with China. There will be many checks and balances involved with our. The only thing going in our favor would be our democracy/ expatriates lobby and perhaps innovation that comes with democracy. Software is the future and we are good in it, it is the only silver bullet we have in our arsenal. Need to expand it fast!!

But americans own all the platforms :
Social media/ OS / Cloud computing infra and soon AI infra as well. China was wise enough to create alternatives for all of these except OS.

I don't know where to add this , but for indonesians (wannabe arabs) need to know their aukaat before pointing towards Indians
Ok, at this rate, is there a single country we're not cursing at as netizens? Are we left with only Russia and Japan as the friendly ones? Scratch the surface, and the Japanese also have a certain disgust for India due to the shoddy nature of our cities and overall dirt and pollution.

Everyone and their dog is going to constantly look down upon Indians until we reach 10,000 per capita nominal, and have clean and good looking cities.

We really don't understand just how important cities and public space's cleanliness are in terms of perception. The quality of your cities, architecture, neighborhoods, houses, parks and walkways are the number one quality that the world looks at when judging your culture and race. More than any "ancient history" or GDP figures. That's why California is now seen as a shithole despite having the largest GDP in America. This is an aspect India has been ignoring at its own cultural peril for decades. Even the Swachch Bharat Abhiyan ended as a meme.

Better for Indian netizens to be positive online as much as possible and try to be brand ambassadors for Indian investment opportunities, infrastructure growth, architecture, music and arts. Showcase better parts of India such as the nature in the coastline, western ghats, Himalayas, North East etc, or good parts of tier 2 cities. Not talking about your quote in particular since it's happening in an Indian forum, but just an overall generalization.

It really did not .. in my area garbage pile reduced by a factor of 10 . And the ones that remained were managed way better than before . And the decrease in open defecation is a statistical fact .
Agreed on all other points .
Yes, eradicating open defecation was a significant achievement, and perhaps some areas like yours did improve significantly in cleanliness which is good, but I am not finding a whole lot of difference in the average Indian street 10 years ago vs today. So there's a LOT of work to be done there.

The more difficult problem are the ubiquitous haphazard buildings that are being built everywhere with zero regard for beauty or architectural tradition. Mile after mile of peeling paint cement houses with ugly fronts and roofs, are 90% of India's urban landscape till now. All encompassed by posters and shoddy storefronts with encroached sidewalks.

Sanad. Since TATA is there and some level of supply system can be easily established there.

Also does GOI allowing MG to expand. They are pretty much struggling with Capex due to SAIC shadow ban by us.

You don't necessarily have to be a USD 10k per capita income economy to knock civic sense and some sense of neighborhood cleanliness, hygiene and responsible garbage disposal among Indians.

We can be quite a disgusting bunch.

Eradicating open defecation? Heck, the footpath along a certain stretch of Lal Baghs(a big ass park) peripheral boundary in Bangalore is littered with human feces though there are pay and use toilets dotting the settlements on the opposite side of the road where the offenders likely reside. Mostly inhabited by peacefuls and lower income category who have put up small statues of Ambedkar.

When will these folks grow up/evolve?

Maybe they need to be paid from taxpayer money under some yojana to not to poop on the streets.

Many Latin American countries are very poor. Their infrastructure is falling apart but yet they keep their streets and surroundings as clean as possible. It is a matter of culture. We should teach financial and civic responsibilities to our kids a little more than Gandhi Nehru all the time.

Oh totally agreed that we have a long way to go .. as I mentioned the remaining garbage piles... were from slums where the municipal garbage collectors could not drive their vehicles into. Unfortunately urban renewal is a totally state subject so we will have drastically varying results across the country.
But we should not belittle the achievements already made . 2010s where there was a garbage pile on every street corner 🤢

Biggest W in recent times

  • Annual inflows into the G-sec market beyond the inclusion could be $18.5 billion; the “internationalization of INR” and the reform of India’s capital market could lead to SDR inclusion for INR in the end

One of the biggest reasons for slow growth in NDA term was multiple instances of WPI deflation which were not seen during UPA tenures. Government should fix this for good.

buddy u r talking about impossible task....when indian critisize india day nd night, how do u think indian will not criticize other countries?? u will find all types of minded people in countries. u can find some people in pakistan nd china, who like india. same u can find "many" indians, who lv pakistan nd china😝. so u cant control this. even if u donate ur kidney to a country. u will find liker nd disliker of u from that country. personal level we should make good relationship with other countries people, but at national level (as a representative of country) we should open minded to criticize nd praise any nation. always good offense is better than defense.
