Russia gave a list of the stuff it wants from India so that it can use the accumulated rupee in Indian banks. But the Indian companies are pussies, since they have their fingers in american pie so they don't want to be sanctioned.
I mean how hard is to start a new export company and start exporting by just only exporting to russia.
This.
Then again can't blame them, they don't have the benefits of the "Chinese System", will probably get "found out" quite easily.

You could have some shady middlemen nibbas acting as "distributors" who aren't connected with the manufacturing companies in question directly but ship stuff from here to Rooskieland.

Then again you need to have a risk appetite for that, our guys are pussies.

In terms of amount, China exports to Russia

Scope of main trade commodities (trade volume > $1 billion) for motors and electrical equipment, boilers, machines and machinery

Tools, vehicles and their parts, plastics and their products, organic chemicals, shoes and boots, leg warmers and their parts, steel

Products, toys and sporting goods and accessories, furniture, illuminated and luminous signs, optical instruments and medical equipment, non-needles

Knitted or crocheted clothing. Knitted or crocheted clothing

-----------------

Indian manufacturing is uncompetitive compared to China

This is the main reason

We also pay Russian oil in UAE dirhams since Russians buy a lot from UAE basically UAE is nothing but middle man for goods with western content. Like I said Indians companies are pussies with no balls and then have their finger in the american pussy.
Don't just aimlessly bash the situation. Russian trade is only on going via UAE route and with Dirham and Yuan.
Use whatever is possible. Russians already have India Rupee as surplus, and they are not able to purchase much from here.
Keep your wild fantasy with you only. Indian companies are not that strong that we will start fingering Americans.

I am saying start a new shell company with sole aim of exporting to russia, immune from sanctions. We have traders rebadging chinese E scooters and selling them as made in India. I am just saying where are those shady traders when you need one. Unless the shady traders wants their children to be a brown coolie worker in america and is avoiding russian exposure.

1 year anniversary of this, please hold your horses. India will prefer paying 5% extra instead of paying in Yuan.

Delhi High Courts holds in favour of Nokia
A two-judge bench of the Delhi High Court has ordered mobile phone manufacturer Oppo to deposit 23 percent of its India sales, within four weeks, for using Nokia's technology in its phones without the requisite consent.

The bench arrived at the 23 percent figure after noting that Oppo's sales in India account for around 23 per cent of its global sales.

What is the case about?

Oppo had secured a licence from Nokia in 2018 for using some of its technology for a period of three years. Oppo had also made advance payments for the use of this technology. The agreement, however, did not cover the use of patents relating to 5G standards. Considering that 5G devices account for 52 percent of Oppo's sales in India, the company would have had to pay a substantially higher amount to Nokia.

Nokia alleged that after the expiry of the 2018 agreement, Oppo had
witnessed an unprecedented increase in the sale of its devices and had sold around 77 million devices in India without paying a single rupee in royalty.

It is Nokia's case that it had offered to discuss the renewal of the agreement, but Oppo had refused to negotiate in good faith. Nokia then initiated a suit in the Delhi High Court for infringement of its patent for 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G devices in India.

Nokia sought a pro-tem (temporary) deposit from Oppo of an amount either based on the latest counter offer made by Oppo for a global licence during the negotiations or an amount equivalent to the royalty paid under the 2018 agreement.

However, a single judge of the Delhi High Court dismissed the application seeking interim deposit, stating that the court did not have the power to do so without going into the merits of the case. Nokia then appealed against the order before a two-judge bench of the High Court.

Oppo's arguments:

Oppo argued that a patent holder cannot seek an interim or even a permanent injunction as a matter of right. Oppo also argued that Nokia was seeking interim security in the initial stages of the case, without substantiating any of its claims.

It is Oppo's contention that Nokia’s demands were not in compliance with the Fair, Reasonable and Non-Discriminatory (FRAND) agreement on fair practice in the use of patents.

Court's conclusion

The court has held that to balance the equities in cases such as this, it has the power to pass an order directing Oppo to make a temporary deposit without going into the merits of the case in detail.

It has further clarified that an order asking a company to make a temporary deposit does not amount to asking the company to stop using the patent. The court noted that if Oppo does not make a temporary deposit, Nokia will suffer an irreparable loss as its patents will be used without the benefit of royalty.

The court also took note of the fact that Nokia had initiated 13 patent infringement proceedings against Oppo globally. Of them 11 had gone in Nokia’s favour. The court set aside the single judge's order and directed Oppo to deposit 23 percent of the proceeds of their India sales.

Nokia was represented by senior advocates, Gourab Banerjee and Pravin Anand, managing partner of law firm Anand and Anand.

---------------------------------

Amount likely to be over $210 million.

Indian manufacturing is uncompetitive compared to China

This is the main reason
The world including the West depends upon China for all manner of goods, and hence China has a license to export to the world's lepers including Russia,Iran and Myannmar with no "consequences" except slap-on-the-wrist "sanctions".

India and Indian companies meanwhile would be the whipping boy of the West, to be "Made an Example of" incase our companies were found to be exporting stuff to Russia.

That is the main reason.

No such thing as immune from sanctions, they will dig up your sanctions violation and use it to finger your company and the govt.

Shady traders operate within India and not internationally, come to think of it those Congi-pasand "arms trader" middlemen could be of use here :notsure:

Hewlett Packard to manufacture high-end servers in India

Pasting only the relevant portions here

===============================================================================

New Delhi [India], July 4 (ANI): Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has partnered with Indian manufacturer VVDN Technologies to begin manufacturing some of its high-volume servers in India, the American multinational information technology company said on Tuesday.

This announcement comes in the wake of the recent Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s State visit to the US.

The Texas-headquartered company plans to manufacture approximately USD 1 billion worth of high-runner servers in the first five years of production from India, it said in a release.

“We welcome HPE’s decision to start their manufacturing line in India, as it will enhance domestic production capacities,” said Ashwini Vaishnaw.

The recently announced Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme 2.0 aims to make India a global hub for Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM). We believe large-scale IT hardware manufacturing will help in broadening and deepening the manufacturing ecosystem.”

“These high-end very complex machines getting manufactured in India show how mature the electronics manufacturing industry is now becoming,” he told ANI.

Ahead of the announcement, Som Satsangi, Senior Vice President and Managing Director at HPE India and Puneet Agarwal, CEO at VVDN Technologies today met Union Minister for Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw to share details of the initiative.

HPE has partnered with Indian manufacturer VVDN Technologies to manufacture HPE’s products from its plant in Manesar in Haryana.

The US-based tech company said that he manufacturing operation will support the growing demand from customers in India and further strengthen and diversify HPE’s global supply chain.

VVDN is an ESDM firm and also an ODM, in case somebody wants to cry about ASSEMBLY NOT MANUFACTURING REEEEEEEEE

Anyway leaving the ICs, we can indeginize the following components here
  1. Server chassis, made using metal stamping machines
  2. Those jet-engine sounding 90mm fans
  3. Heatsink block for CPU, made using aluminium and copper
  4. Power supplies, many servers use 2x for redundancy
  5. HDD/SSD backplane and hotswap cages
  6. PCBA( VVDN will do this eventually if not already )
  7. The actual PCB
  8. RAM modules and SSDs if Micron walks the talk

In addition we already build tranformers, inductors. We need to start building other semiconductors, we used to build stuff like electrolytic capacitors but most have shut shop by early 2000s.

We must start to build mosfets, IGBT since these are in high demand in all type of chargers, EVs, power supplies, solar inverters, defense and practically every singe electronic device.

I think we are missing the elephant in the room.
How do we secure the Raw materials.
We need large quantity of quartz to refine silicon.
Cobalt
Galium
Lithium
Neodymium
Dysprosium
Terbium

You can't just manufacture things out of thin air.

GoI is doing *something* to ameliorate this issue.

West has hands in this too. I guess there is no escape from them.
China has the largest Rare earth reserve, Australia second. Russia has a decent amount to which we can import without issue.
I guess scavenging Africa will also give results.
Largest speculated reserve is probably in South America

Ya'll Nibbiars The JSW to sell stake in the new energy firm to riase capital for their Maharashtra 65,000 crore plus plant which is planned to be opertional by 2026 first phase. They have already raised funds through internal and external sources already to almost 10,000 crore. They would be able to raise upto 24,000 crore after this round with bot internal dilution and another round of debt capital.

Is this the same project.

View attachment 213093

The NGT issued the order while hearing an appeal of Prafulla Samantara, rights activist and winner of the Goldman Environmental Prize, who had challenged the validity of the EC granted to the project. Mr. Samantara said the appraisal conducted by the Expert Appraisal Committee was procedurally, as well as, substantively erroneous.
Ya'll Nibbiars That's JSW steel at Odisha not the JSW Energey at Maharashtra.
