The imports have shot up explosively in this one year. Are we really consuming that much more compared to the previous year?
Electrical/machinery imports consists of many HS categories other than smartphones. E.g., PC, laptop, printers, these are all imported. Also, we're importing machineries and industrial equipment for setting up new factories.

These imports will increase more in the coming year as our per capita income increases and new industries are being set up. That's why I said that GoI needs to set up huge textile and leather parks fast, those will offset these electronics imports.

Ya'll Nibbiars The Air India MD Campbell Wilson about the airline using the Russian Airspace : “Thats the way winds are blowing and it is the most economical”. "If Country A and B are having a conflict, then Country A insists Country C to do X, Y and Z. Thats a precedent that I think we all need to be careful of”. “I absolutely don’t sanction or condone or support the conflict but aviation is probably the biggest enabler of global peace and connectivity”.

People here forget that booming imports are a positive sign for a booming economy, but so are exports. If we can not build most of electronic components like semiconductors then we can compensate for that by increasing exports in other sectors, like Pharmaceuticals, Automobiles and Textiles which we are already great but have a lot of room for expansion.

India comes under fire at WTO for avoiding questions on MSP subsidy:

The idiots in the west should have thought of that when their alphabet agencies were funding the 'farmer' protests.

I am saying the same thing since few months here. We need to tax property especially the ones which have rental incomes. All the commercial and residential if taxed will bring in 10 Lakh crores to GOI which will massively give a boost to Government spending power.

Airbus currently procures components and services worth $735 million every year from more than 100 Bharatiya suppliers.

Add in the services and components sourced by Boeing from India. It will easily be over $1B worth of business by these two giants from Indian every year.

Mate I am impatient, I would like to see at least narrow body Civilian jet Aircraft assembly lien in India in next 10 years. For that we need to climb value chain in supply of components.

People who keep raising this Chutiya issue since TATA deals has no idea how much money India lose to foreign airlines every year. In compare to that money 80billions is nothing.

Indians pay very handsome amount of money to foreign airlines that too for transit flights.

If Indian airlines increase in size there will be lots of direct flights from most of world cities relatively in cheap prices.

The Foreign airlines had captured even the domestic air travel market. The Govt is now not giving Domestic routes to foreign players and asking our companies to operate more.

I completely agree with this
But if we are paying this much and there are chances to get a line then it's a must and govt should strive hard
If we are paying on that line we must extract the most
Even aviation minister told then to assemble those here but we know these are just talks to show we tried hut they didn't concede

We are not running our country to cure your impatient.
Naah you were cute content in lethargic slumber - as the country ran in automode by God grace! Its the current gen - go getter attitude has given confidence of being impatient,

Similar advice was given to likes of Raj malhotra and Nambi Naryanan. Hope the progenitor of above thoughts are no longer calling shots in future of Indian Aviation & Space.
