I don't think anybody would have questioned her foreign policy. Her energy policy was a big blunder: closing nuclear plants, coal mining and plants, anti fossil fuel propaganda, betting heavily on electric cars, solar, wind and gas.

In hard times, opposite happened.
why did they choose to close down nuclear plants, is green lobby so strong in germany?

Germany under Merkel is brainwashed with anti fossil fuel and pro solar, wind to the max beyond redemption. They force the same crap on EU. It's an ideological commitment like Islam.

Russia Ukraine War has set back this agenda by decades now.

Some more reading to get insight how it has failed miserably:

UP GDP : 274 billion USD.
Target : 1 trillion in 5 years.
What is Yogi smoking. 4x in 5 years !!!

Ya'll Nibbiars If you say that the Maharashtra and TN with is 520 and 340 respectively will reach 1,000 by the decade then its believable, But this is nothing but election slogans. The both state saw double digit growth rate last year of around 13 percent and even this year will see a double digit growth rate unlike up which is still in single digit growth rate near the double digit respectable compared to its neighbors extremely good but still , the Four times growth is just a jumla.

You gotta aim for moon to land at Everest.
Let them target 4x growth even of they achieve 2-2.5x it will make UP a powerhouse of Indian economy again.

Btw it's not in vaccum. They are building India's largest expressway network across entire UP + defence corridors + Yogi improving law and order situation all this combined might see UP breakout .

I am much hopeful for Maharashtra reaching 1 trillion dollar first due to current shinde+fadnavis govt is seriously working in order to make up the lost time of mva but if those shitty leftist and retarded politicians don't interfere

It all started in 2009 with the policy of "Energiewende" energy independence as they called it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energiewende

After she won the election in 2009 she got the support for this policy in Bundestag in 2010. Germany was betting heavily on renewables. Solar plants to the south and east of the country. And wind turbines to the west and north of the country. They had the biggest solar manufacturing plant in the small eastern city of Freiberg. They also had a branch in US state of Oregon. Chinese wanted to dominate the solar sector so they unleashed their hackers on this company. They stole every bit of their technology, research and development.

After this Chinese started dumping solar modules into European market. So much so EU had to introduce anti-dumping tariffs on Chinese solar panels. https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/IP_13_501

Yes, Germany has a party whose poll plank is environment. They are called the "Greens". Presently they are in the coalition government with SPD and FDP. German Foreign minister Annalena Baerbock is from the Green party. I think Merkel took the decision to close down Nuclear power plants after Fukushima as she wanted to deny Greens using that as a strong issue in 2013 elections. And it worked. Her party got the best results slightly short of majority in 2013. That coupled with strong bet on renewables, eventual retirement of old Nuclear power plants, cheap natural gas which was flowing from Russia might have prompted her to close down Nuclear power plants in Germany. 2022 was the year they targeted to close down the plants. Now they can't do that without having black outs.

What was the the lost time of mva? Where did they fail? What wrong policies did they enact?
I am getting hint of bias in your post.

Couple of months ago shinde was part of same MVA.

Ya'll Nibbiars And shinde was unhappy. There was rift between the Penguin and ES regarding the Samurdhi Expresway even when I was in the proposal stage. The Penguin was against it and shinde wanted it to be implemented ASAP.

One common theme that's showing up again and again, is that europeans fall for their own hype for some reason. when GoI was saying, we need a base load of non renewables, these folks were targeting us. Thankfully better sense prevailed in India.
