I meant the energy storage part(actually the generation part is also pretty china dependent in terms of solar panels). Within a decade or two, if EV takes up a considerable space, that would mean a significant dependence on China for Lithiums(because no major player exists for now). That can be a very risky proposition unless we develop continuity alternatives in the South Americas like the Muricans did to the Middle East.
Storage part is no issue, i already mentioned that Tesla made Mega Storage parks in Australia, usa. It can be done in India too, generate at one place store and transmit over time.

Lithium issue can be solved, rather it provides us a great opportunity to kick-start our geopolitical relationships in the South American countries.

Given how we have made use of "opportunities" in the past, it only makes me more nervous. Chu*yas might end up depending on Chongs for Lithium in their batteries for cars, and that's not one position you would want to be in

GoI knows the changing dynamics in EV industry and they are working on it...Ur TATA's, Mahindra's, Bajaj's, TVS, Hero's will go EV transformation in this decade...

We were fcked by socialism , licence raj , bureaucratic misgovernance , caste politics etc . And excess population in non costal states like UP , Bihar dint help . Central india got fckd due to communist violence . NE already has a rough geography and add conflict to that . Same with respect to kashmir and panjab .
India started living after 1990 only . Liberalization though half hearted is all that was needed to ignite that spirit of people . But still old school left wing politics , foreign supported interest groups , judicial delay , political vested interest delay many developmental projects .

But why are we discussing history . Dont we already knw all these stuff . This thread shd be used for updates nt for mourning on backwardness .. Its nt going to go away by mourning .
Unfortunately India's learning model has been make mistake, supplant it with even biggest mistake and end up with a massive cesspit. The question now is,Is India doing anything to ensure that no further mistakes are being made ?

You cannot become the next China simply by wishful thinking and building industries or infrastructure projects here and there. It has to be backed by a strong educated and a healthy workforce.

Unfortunately there is a huge variance between India's dreams and ground reality.

Most of India is mentally still in 18th century with their archaic living standards, customs and beliefs.
An average Indian does not think beyond religion, has no critical thinking, analytical skills or logical reasoning ability and is fit for no other work than manual labour. It is very difficult to turn them into skilled workforce,A thing that i witnessed in the 8 years that i worked in companies that i worked in.

We need nothing less than a Great Leap Forward at least in our Culture and Education system.

What India needs is to remove the judiciary. The socialist hellhole Keynsian macroeconomist perspective will probably rectify itself.

The government spends a dismal amount of money in education yes more and more kids are going to schools specially girls which is a wonderful thing but the quality of the education specially in rural areas where around 60% of our population lives is woeful and understaffed

which government? education comes under concurrent list, there will be more schools under state govts than central govt.

Schools that come under central govt, standards are maintained.

Govt spend less amount on education or whatever .. its because they earn less . They earn less because there is less developed economy . So its all comes down to money . Socialists and communists think money grows on trees and we can pluck it then invest in social sectors ... while blocking the developmental projects , reform at the same time .. Countries that grew following capitalist model are now funding our over educated revolutionaries to stop india's rise and they are saying yes sir like slaves ..

Spending on education is literally betting on the future to make use of the demographic dividend you need a educated population

Every sector is imp . I have seen uneducated fellow who has nt read those ncerts earning in lakhs in his resturant and highly educated fellows doing strikes and sitting unemployed . It all comes down to how much money is earned by govt . We cnt spend like USA or japan . Because we dnt have it and why we dnt have it i have explained it earlier .

Once you focus on education only, you'll have an article in the newspaper screaming "educated unemployment goes up by this and this". Because you didn't focus on job creation and industrial growth
There can be a problem with every solution

on a serious note, the expectations you have cannot be fulfilled by centralised funding either from centre or state. centralised funding is detrimental to adaption to changing economic ground realities. that means, say a curriculum needs to be added or a teacher skill set needs to be improved in a particular city, by the time bureaucratic approvals happen the momentum has passed.

local governments need to have a greater say in public education. It’s not the case that they don’t have a say now, but it’s limited due to limited budgets. this would mean local governments need more revenues, which is not a stage the country is in right now except a municipal corporations. in this world view, you will be talking more about your city government than central govt. this also means you will be paying more local taxes over and above central taxes.

flip side of this approach is what happens in murican cities like Chicago, quality drops quite a bit if there is political instability in the city.

We are already below the replacement level for our population and there are estimates that by 2050 our demographic dividend will have already ended
Recheck the numbers, people are living longer hence the numbers look that way.
