Ya'll Nibbiars A total of 41 industrial parks, mostly from Maharashtra and Rajasthan, have been assessed as leaders in the second edition of the Industrial Park Ratings System IPRS report released by the Commerce & Industry Ministry on Tuesday.

About 90 industrial parks, from States, including Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Karnataka, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh, have been rated under the ‘challenger’ category, while 185 have been rated as ‘aspirers’. These ratings are assigned on the basis of key existing parameters and infrastructure facilities.

Ya'll Nibbiars How the JNPT overcome the container shortages.

Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal today virtually flagged-off the dwarf container train service from Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT). With this, the first consignment of laden Dwarf containers from Dwarf container depot (DCD) at the port was moved by train to ICD Kanpur. The port is set to gain steadily from the implementation from the Dwarf container train services from JNPT, as the rail movement of EXIM cargo through double stacked dwarf containers would offer competitive cost advantage to the EXIM community, resulting in an increase in port cargo traffic via rail route. The ‘Dwarf Containers’ are lesser in height by 660 mm than normal ISO containers, giving them a logistical edge. The Low height of dwarf container loaded on trailers can pass through rural, semi urban and urban roads, through limited height subways and level crossing in electrified sections.

Furthermore, the ‘Dwarf’ containers provide a 67 percent increase in volume when double-stacked and can carry a weight of 71 tons, against 40 tons by an ISO container. In addition, Indian Railways has offered 17 percent discount on haulage cost compared to double stack ISO container trains, resulting in an overall 33per cent discount to shippers making Indian Railways competitive. Thus the rail movement of cargo through Dwarf containers has the potential to lower the EXIM logistics costs, making Indian exports globally competitive.

Speaking at the inaugural event, the Minister said, the commencement of Dwarf container train services from JNPT is a pivotal step towards streamlining the rail movement of EXIM cargo via double-stacked dwarf containers. He said, this will give the EXIM community a competitive cost advantage by lowering hinterland logistical costs, while simultaneously enhancing rail-cargo traffic at JNPT. He added that Dwarf containers are port-friendly and can be manufactured in India at a cost-efficient price point, thereby opening-up opportunities for Make in India.

The move will result in more competitive Exports and enhance export from India. A robust logistics sector can go a long way in boosting India’s quest for being a manufacturing giant and promote ‘Make in India’. This will also help JNPT in increasing throughput, reduce congestions at gate and road; increase DPD which will further reduce cost of logistics for shippers, also improve turnaround time of shipping line containers, and address container shortage issues.

India exploring regulation to test Chinese smartphones for snooping, data security concerns - ET Telecom

New Delhi: India is exploring a regulation that may mandate teardown or in-depth testing of handsets to ensure that the devices and installed apps are not snooping on the citizens of the country, people familiar with the matter told ET.

The move, seen as a retaliation for the continued Chinese aggression at the India-China border, could be in line with what the government has put in place for telecom equipment, they said.

The government is compiling a list of trusted sources and trusted companies for telecom equipment and networking products to check alleged cyber snooping. The move is believed to be aimed at keeping Chinese players such as Huawei and ZTE out of critical areas of telecom networks, said experts.

While the regulation, if it materialises, will cover the entire industry, Chinese brands will be in focus, said one of the persons involved in initial consultations with the government.

someone tell me wether this is propaganda or is this truth ?

Propaganda,

Because Chinese Workforce is around 1Bn ppl, so that justify the high GDP & GDP per capita,
While India's workforce is only 500 million ppl.
When more ppl come into the workforce, that will automatically reflect in GDP & GDP per capita.

Meanwhile China should be worried about a declining workforce in the coming decade.

I too don't care or give a foot what you think. And yes don't construct things in your brain. Where have i written that i disrespect a region? If saying reality is disrespectful then God help u.
The statement was based on a generalized fact of civic sense on the ground. And yes i have travelled a lot of country (JH,BH,WB,OD,UP, DL,HP,PJ,AP,TN,KR,KA,MH) ; not speaking based on 'Internet research'.

Ya'll Nibbiars once peoles from the Tamil Nadu used to come to kerala for employment and now it's vice versa. Keratitis goes to Chennai and Bengaluri for employment 12Arya Nibbi and Hariharan_kalarikkal Nibba are the tell of this.
That's true. However, the high remittance from outside the state contributes to high consumption figures. For example, Kerala contributes ~8% to car sales in India despite having only ~2.5% of the population.

Tamil labourers have moved up the skill ladder, they are no longer unskilled workers but electricians/ plumbers/ carpenters/ foremen etc. The unskilled construction labour in KL now comes from Bihar, UP & mostly West Bengal (actually, Bangladesh).

Ya'll Nibbiars

Funda from Sri Lanka and Maldives is getting nonsensical now. It is give me money or we go to China.
Btw what are the consequences for India if they tilt completely to China. Just make a red line if they give military base or intelligence base, we will invade.

That swinging will continue, it’s the nature of the game. They gain more by playing one against the other. That’s what diplomacy is for.
