Of course Bloomberg will sell a few lines of copium.
Those issues can be taken care of; if they are willing to share the knowhow that is. The previous efforts did not succeed because nobody was willing to come here and also because of lack of government support.
I hope modi just does this no communist hindu naxal Islamist stop him if they do no matter who kill them or put them in jail we need this

And this is a problem.

Arbitrary changes increase compliance costs and I am not even getting started with the inverted duty structures and the (at least temporary) lack of high yoy growth promised to the states and the resulting disputes.

Not denying that. GST is definitely better than the previous VAT systems.
One uniform rate covering 75-80% goods in a single tax slab (preferably 15%) would go along way ensuring maximum compliance and minimum compliance cost (which anyway increased 2 times). I don't get what logic is there to bring newer product categoties in 28% slab; why the tinkering even after 4 yrs?

Boeing itself is planning a big factory in Bangalore (currently on hold due to the global chinese virus outbreak but not canceled). More and more manufacturers will come to the locations nearby to build their supply chains.

India has China on its toes as Modi govt engages Taiwan to solve chip shortage
Bloomberg

4-6 minutes

India and Taiwan are in talks on an agreement that could bring chip manufacturing to South Asia along with tariff reductions on components for producing semiconductors by the end of the year, people familiar with the matter said, a move that may spark fresh tensions with China.

Officials in New Delhi and Taipei have met in recent weeks to discuss a deal that would bring a chip plant worth an estimated $7.5 billion to India to supply everything from 5G devices to electric cars, the people said. India is currently studying possible locations with adequate land, water and manpower, while saying it would provide financial support of 50% of capital expenditure from 2023 as well as tax breaks and other incentives, the people said.
