Of the total tax collected by the centre, there is a central divisible pool. GoI sets up a Finance commission that decides how much money to be given to each state based on multiple factors- distance from median income, population, area etc. In the latest Finance Commission recommendation, it was recommended that the GoI distribute 41% of its total tax proceeds to the states. This divisible pool does not include cess, surcharge and the taxes collected by states.

This 41% is unconditional money given to the states by the centre, the rest 59% centre can use for different areas- defence, infrastructure, centrally sponsored schemes like swach bharat and so on.

As per Finance Commission, centre has to share 42% of central taxes with the state governments. It's called devolution. [41% to states + 1% to J&K UT].
That 42% is split between different states based on certain criteria.

Direct taxes : If 100 rupees is collected as Income tax then 42 rupees will be transferred to States and centre will have 58 rs.

Indirect taxes : If 100 rupees is collected as GST then half is State GST and half is Central GST. Now this central GST also has to be transferred to states at 42%. So for 100 rupee GST, centre will get only 29 rupees.

India holds on to position as second-largest source of FDI for UK

Though it is out of topic but worth considering as a concurrent issue on another thread where British scums are being mentioned lobbying from Pakistan. A suggestion I made a year about Indian investment made overseas and bilateral ties having binding clauses for the host nation to curb such scums and be sensitive on issues concerning us.

It becomes prudent to treat investment made by Indian companies overseas as an Indian asset with strings attached back to India government making them and their employees loyal to the motherland. I remember debunking claims of a loser who during an interview to an Asian tabloid in Singapore made disparaging statements full of lies. This will also address wannabe Librandus who lived off Indian subsidies but soon after landing overseas starts lecturing India.

I've seen this guy's videos multiple times, seems like he is biased against India, but very good at masking it.
He is from Azerbaijan so he should not be pro India.
But then what is the use of hearing or watching any piece of info that boast Indian ego. We should be good realistic feedback and learn from mistakes.
While we are on good track, lots of work remain mainly at our society level. How to treat each other, giving each other respect irrespective of caste, creed or religion may help alleviate many of society ills.
