Centre issues cyber alert over potential DoS and DDoS attack on 12000 govt websites by Indonesian hacktivist group: Reports

”A hacktivist Indonesia group is claiming to target 12,000 websites of India and the threat actors are launching DoS/DDoS attacks,” the alert said.

Specific advisory was issued last week to ward off disruptive DDoS attacks by Anonymous Sudan and Killnet.

These jokers were behind recent outages faced by multiple entities including e-commerce sites, airports and banks.

And this was discovered by an American Cyber Security research firm.

What happened?
The report noted that the leak was initially noticed by Resecurity, an American cyber security and intelligence agency. According to the cyber firm, a ‘threat actor’ with the alias ‘pwn001’ posted a thread on Breach Forums,– which describes itself as a ‘premier Databreach discussion and leaks forum’ – enabling access to records of 815 million (81.5 crore) Indians.

Almost all intelligence agencies around the world already have 85% coverage on Indian population through personal identifier databases, the funny part is if you report vulnerability and they didn't pacth and you make a medium blog post next day you will recive phone call from Indian consulate ( if you are abroad) telling you to remove the post, I mean BJP got lucky congis and idiot opposition busy on unicorn chase ( Pegasus) if any of congis have any clue on impact of this data breach entire adhaar service can be screwed up,
