These bulgarian Akms are top notch, much refined ones than the romanian ones used by RR.Ak103 along with romanian MD96s were there for the rifle trials back in 2003 oor 2004.But thhe deal was made in favor of Bulgarian AKms .
Any way now Bulgaria's Arsenal inc produces much better AKms than AK103s which comes with buit in quad rails ,conical flash hiders ,collapsible buttstocks etc.But CAPFs didn't find the usefulness of such upgrades and chose to go with the basic AK model ie SAM7 .:p :/

AK103s were deliberately and malafidely rejected in favour of Bulgarian AK's on grounds of their slightly increased length due to the additional flash hider. They are known to be relatively more accurate than AKMS apart frm othr modifications

Sir ,

Carl gustav is much more accurate than rpg at all ranges, for its being a recoil less rifle basically. It is very good at anti light armor and bunker busting. The advantages you named are true but if you consider overall scenario, battles, war, ambush etc then Carl gustav is better than rpg.

I have read and heard from many army men ,that one weapon that make terrorist piss in their pants is CG.

In Iraq war,US special forces were issued CG,when marine saw its effectiveness then they made an urgent request for it,as a result of it a huge number of CG was bought for them from abroad. This tell us how effective it is.

So in the end CG is fine ,instead we should focus on providing various scopes for rifles ,right from red dot to 8x sights for ct ops.:namaste:

Best thing I find with this 84mm gun is that i comes with 84mm programmable round
that burst at set distance by moving the rings on the round, giving it a air burst capability good to deal with enemy hiding behind wall without any collateral damage to the building.

Now It comes with the ability to fire from inside confined spaces thanks to Saab's HEAT 655 CS 84-mm ammunition

Great inventory CoBRA! Would be even better if AK47s were replaced by AK103s that MARCOS uses. And INSAS LMG dropped for a modern, imported belt fed option.
Is belt fed LMG better or a Maag or Box type in Jungle environment? Wouldn't chance of belt getting jammed be more in a jungle due to mud and other stuff?

Belt feed and Magazine feed have their cons and pros, For Magazine fed LMG is much lighter and can be carried for LRP and assault but at one time it can only shoot 30-50 rnds, Where as belt feed LMG has more firepower to pin enemy down at ranges but at the same time its not a suitable firearm to use in assault which means fire on move towards enemy ..

Jam can occur even in Magazine feed Rifle or LMG, One has to be trained to deal with the situation and know his weapon well ..

Terrain does not matter.

In addition to Kunal's points. the following has to be considered.

Belt fed ammunition has to be carried by another man, who has to carry the ammunition boxes.

Magazines are carried on the man in the 'pouches' of his web equipment.

Therefore, from the user's point of view, magazine fed weapons are desired.

Belt fed LMGs like Negevalso have magazine feeding option for such situation. Latest version Negev NG 7 has the stopping power of the Bren type LMG widely missed by CT forces using INSAS LMG. A dual calibre Minimi Mk 3 is also available which can fire both 5.56 & 7.62 NATO rounds

For LMG and machinegun in general belt feed is better. Box magazine have an inherit flaw. The spring must be strong enough to match the rate of fire of any firearm. Machinegun have a much higher rate of fire than the standard issued infantry rifle.

Spring weaken due to compression and decompression. Loading the magazine to the max (compression) and emptying it (decompression) will weaken the spring. It isn't much of an issue if the magazine/spring are well made (Magpul, Lancer L5, Russian AK magazine, etc) and use on standard issued infantry rifle (M4, M16, AK, FAL, bolt rifle, etc).

It become an issue when use on firearms with a high rate of fire like LMG/HMG. The box magazine won't have a problem for the first few cycles (compression decompression). Sooner or latter and most likely sooner the spring will deteriorate to a point it could not keep up with the rate of fire of the machinegun. It will still work on firearms with a lower rate of fire but for high rate of fire it will become jam-o-matic. Belt feed was design to by pass the inherit flaw of spring magazine.

MHA haad enough money to buy luxurious X95s for Cobra and even common Crpf troopers. But look at any Cobra trooper pics ,in most of them you ont find them with any BPJ,or ballistic helmet whichh is common for thheir army counterparts ie the RR guys.
Are the COBRA not wearing BPJ s and helmets deliberately or are they not provided with them?

A good example of GOI towards CRPF and oother CAPFs who are actively engaged in CI ops is that the men whoo dies in CT ops are not given martyr status where as army personel even if they die under accident or other causes during any operation are given martyr status.
Plus the perks given to CAPF men in CT ops areas are very less compared with their army counterparts.
So is the case of annual leave and living facilities. Also the promotional aspects are not at all bright.
How could any one expect such a force to work efficiently if govt is treating them like second class citizens.

Indian Made INSAS and AK can be easily upgraded by Pvt firms under tender, Saving Millions of $$, Instead that money could be utalised for Infrastructure and other necessary gears ..

Police force and Paramilitary biggest headache is poor infrastrucher and outdated training, Where as IA invested in training and protection of individual solider, Though still lack fancy addons on INSAS and AKs .. :D
