I really don't get the problem of a few. When the Indian Army kills terrorists in Kashmir every other day, they praise the Army, and when situations are grim, you ask what is the strategy and the current strategy is not right.

Yes, more action needs to be be taken across the border, but unfortunately, we are more reactive than proactive. But that doesn't mean that the terrorists in our borders be left free. Yes, we should go after the masterminds, but neutralizing terrorists here act as a demotivating factor for the local terrorists.

Kestrel is not solely Tata product. It is a jointly developed product by Tata and DRDO. The manufacturer is Tata. Kestrel is under trials and not yet cleared.

It is most likely going to be cleared as it is not merely private enterprise but sanctioned by DRDO itself

As such IA does not have a stated requirement for a wheeled armoured platform. There is a small fleet of BRDMs which can potentially be replaced by Kestrel. Plus in some roles like ATGM and recce there may be a requirement

The wheeled APC is very useful for counter insurgency operations as it is easily repairable and is quicker than tracked ones. But, Kestrel is excessively bulky.

But, it is also developed with DRDO. So, there may be some scope.

BMP is a tracked IFV - you cannot compare the mobility and speed of a BMP to the wheeled APC. There are armies which heavily employ APCs - IA is simply not one of them.

For COIN you need MPV - which we continue to acquire from OFB.
