Centre asks forces to plan major offensive in Kashmir

Srinagar Jul 03 2017 : The Times of India

Governor Vohra May Be Asked To Oversee Ops

The security forces are planning to take an aggressive stand to crush growing terrorism in the Valley and prevent people from joining terror outfits, such as LeT or Hizbul Mujahideen, mainly active in various districts of south Kashmir.
The Union home ministry is learnt to have asked security agencies to draw up a concrete plan to stop public support which hamper combat operations against terrorists.

The instructions have come days after Union home minister Rajnath Singh said the government had a “concrete strategy“ for a “permanent solution“ to the Kashmir issue and would ensure that “terrorism is uprooted“ from the state.

The central government has devised a three-pronged strategy -launching an offensive against terrorists, keeping a tab on writers and journalists who also work in various government departments and tightening noose on separatiststo crush terrorism in the state.

According to highlyplaced sources, the Union government may ask Governor NN Vohra to directly oversee the combat operations against the terrorists.Chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, who also holds home portfolio and heads the unified headquarters of security agencies, including the Army , will be kept in the loop only when the security agencies take on terrorists in an encounter.

The Army , said sources, has decided to launch “operation clean-up“ against terrorists in Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam in south Kashmir. Tral in Pulwama district is the most terror-prone area with a large population is affiliated to Jamiat-e-Islami. Terror operatives get shelter and mobilise people to disrupt peace.

Security agencies have already identified columnists, writers and journalists, many of whom are retired judges, former bureaucrats and government servants, who “incite“ violence through their articles and are paid by “hawala conduits“, sources said.

The final countdown has commenced.........

Just wipe out Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam & settle Pandits there. There won't be any terrorism anymore.

Army top brass should sit back and introspect about what went wrong and come up with a new strategy to eliminate terrorist. It is very disappointing to see our forces couldn't take down militants who are holed up in a house despite cordoning it off from all sides
We are giving cricket commentary on army top brass , are we?

It's one thing to critique politicians, let's not assume even for a minute that we civilians can give commentary on certain aspects of military professionalism.

Two terrorists killed in Bahmnoo, Pulwama in a fresh cordon this morning.

Photo of one militant who gunned down today and also do note the Insas rifle which they snatched from Police.
