India's ABM in Afghanistan for what? There is no place in Pakistan that radar in Afghan can see while radar in India can't see.
To cover far distant areas of Pakistan specially Baluchistan and Northern Areas by missiles and Battery level radar.

Just saw this image, this means that Prithvi could be air launched, with some modifications.

If this could be done, that problem with the lack of space to fire Prithvi could be taken care for BMD tests.

DRDO should have done it long time ago.

Why can't a liquid fuel missile can't have decent accelerating capability, Most space agencies use liquid fuel engines, specially cryogenic engines to achieve high speeds. Not only they provide very high acceleration, but also take very less space and weight.

This is most absurd comment I have come across that liquid fuel rockets cannot achieve high acceleration, you would have a point had you said that there would be extra logistics needed and preparation time to get the missile ready for launch.
He meant instant acceleration. Liquid motor gives gradual acceleration unlike solid motor, which gives massive thrust instantly. Same is the reason why boosters are of solid fuel.

this is the future of MKV, for that we have to miniaturize our kill vehicle and we need really fast speed vehicle to take it in space. Plus we need spacebase early warning systems.

See the speed vs distance graph of CE7.5, It depends on fuel, The main difference is storage and compatibility(solid) vs flexibility of engine firing(liquid).

It was liquid fuel missiles which achieved higher speeds initially, but later solid fuel was developed with higher impulse to get similar speeds.

A bigger plane would be needed to do that, a Bomber like Tu95 perhaps but we don't have such plane, probably AD1 could be from start configured for such operation.

However nothing beats a powerful explosive booster, It would come handy on Area Defense destroyers also.

IMO the booster being developed for Barhmos II, or HSTDV could be capable for such operation, since It would be going almost 5 Mach to ignite Scramjet in very short time at low altitude.

Liquid fuel provides static thrust for a longer duration whereas solid fuel provides massive thrust for shorter duration.

The problem with liquid motor is that to achieve the same amount of thrust like solid, it would have to be massive and there is weight penalty.

If you are talking about static and variable thrust than, solid for static because It burns through casing, each ring(layer) is the same thought. Liquid can do variable trust, depending on fuel or oxidizer injection.

I said earlier, It depends on fuel, a Hydrogen, Oxygen engine would be most compact and provide highest thrust. Which is why It used by Space launchers(small size and compact).

Site to defend Mumbai & south is also coming up

Where is this? Will this site have just the early warning radar or both the radar and the interceptors?

Hey guys I am a new member of this forum. I have been visiting DFI for quite some time. The posts on BMD and other topics are indeed great.

Sayareakd sir, your posts are awesome and thanks a lot for debunking and replying to the Western defense editors on Twitter.

Yes.

There were two sites. What's the progress at the other site?

Can you share the coordinates of this site.

Manu Pubby once reported that two radars associated with the BMD program have been installed at a site close to Delhi.

And I had always wondered why doesn't Drdo ever post a pic of the Swordfish LRTR in a press release and in Techfocus, Drdo Annual reports and other brochures. I sometimes wonder whether this radar really exists.
