I think Mahindra does pretty well in Australia. But if you talk about desi companies doing well overseas, Royal Enfield is absolutely killing it. It has successfully created a following in US/UK

A strong bounce back in the demand for personal mobility and last-mile deliveries after the pandemic have helped India overtake Japan in car sales for the first time ever.
India is now the third largest auto market in the world.

Retains No. 4 position in light vehicle production:

In terms of output, India has retained its position as the fourth largest light vehicle producer with an output crossing a milestone of over five million units for the first time ever — the actual numbers are likely to be officially published within a fortnight's time.

- Tata moved up to the second slot on the OEM-wise ranking and ended December with the best-ever annual wholesales performance in CY2022 with 5,26,798 units.

- Hyundai's sales in Dec 2022 stood at 38,831 units, up 20.2% from 32,312 units sold in Dec 2021. Market share went up to 14.1% from 12.7% YoY relating to a 1.4% growth.

It does not work like that you have 130cr population so you will have tons of brands.

Automotive industry is high volume low margin industry. In most big countries, multiple car makers eventually merge together or comes under 1 umbrella brand to become sustainable and profitable.

Top 3 industry leaders are all umbrella brands: VAG, Toyota and Daimler.

US and UK both had 100s of brands which all got merged together or bought by others.
