Can someone advise on the below points;
1. Recoil seems to be high, is it feasible to add some kind of foregrip to it?
2. I read such rifle are mostly used in DMR role, so the possibility of making standard infantry rifle by attaching grenade launchers etc is it possible?
3. Any idea how an infantry squad should look in the near future after acquisition of negev,ak 203,sig?

1. Vertical foregrip has already been seen with the sig 716 in indian service. But solely a vertical foregrip cannot reduce recoil. Proper recoil management training, proper muzzle device, proper distribution of weight and finally the shooters proficiency with the rifle coupled with proper firing stance may help in improving the recoil.( The choice of ammo also matters. Indian army uses the LMG ammo which gives more kick.)

2. The rifle can be used in any environment except CQB (due to its length). Normal infantry engagement takes place at atleast 200-300+ meters range. So range would not be a matter (considering the infantry does not commonly engage in CQB under 50 meters range). Overall length of a fully extended m27 rifle is equal the length of the sig716i (940mm).So the length should be ok for infantry purpose (considering the US Marine infantry uses the m27 rifle in standard infantry role). Empty weight of the rifle is 3.85 kg which is also ok. The only thing lacking is the suppressive fire which can be fulfilled by the Negev lmg. And yes attaching an underbarrel grenade launcher to an ar10 rifle is pretty much possible. If maintained properly, the sig716 can definitely be employed for infantry roles.

3. No Idea since we do not know the number of personnel in the squad, the operational environment under which the squad would be deployed or the extent of availability of these firearms to the squad.

Hope this answer serves your purpose.

Can somebody reconfirm the recent report of placing order of 70,000 for Ak203 rifles with Russia. Media is highly unreliable. Today the media publishes report of an agreement and tomorrow they deny it. Hence where are we in completing the deal? Is there a room to continue to manufacture these rifles from 600,000 in contract to more for exports? The numbers envisaged in the contract are too small for a profitable exercise. That means that in six years when the manufacture is complete, the factory will shut down.

There is an example in Bulgaria where in good old days the Soviets set up a manufacturing plant for Ak47 rifles. That rifle factory after the Soviet demise still operates and sells Ak47 on the cheap. What is next after the contract is completed? Will it continue to operate?

It is an off the shelf procurement for 70,000 AK 203 signed last Thursday.

Really, these are up for trials?????
But it is too expensive don't you think
Foreign maal = kickbacks = short trials = everyone happy
Atleast we know for sure someone in the MoD atleast knows there is something called LPVO😂
MoD ? Not a chance in hell. They would not know the difference between a reflex sight and a scope. It must have been recommended by the men on the ground

Still someone from MoD had to approve this, so someone knows, I doubt most jawans would know about the various types of sights like variable power, fixed power etc. Atmost they may know reflex, iron and telescopic sights as these are the ones they are largely exposed to.
OLF Dehradun Scope has the potential to become a standard LPVO imo

Fitting the muzzle device developed by OFB for their 7.62*51 mm R2 rifle on Sig-716 will minimize the recoil to a large extent and can also enable comfortable firing even in full auto.

The muzzle attachment on the SIG 716 is proprietary, hence it won’t be allowed by SIG to just add extra stuff like this without their support or backing

It is just an addon. similar to foregrip and other attachments which we are/will purchase for our Sigs. The muzzle does not impede with the critical parts of the gun namely its BCG or receiver. It is just an external add on. This will not void the warranty on the gun, be rest assured.
The current muzzle break of R-2 may need some modifications to fit on the barrel.

muzzle device has to be a Sig taper mount or you need to buy their taper mount adapter washer the get a square shoulder for any muzzle device you choose to use.

....you mean guy at front gripping it by handguards and 'not by VERTICAL GRIP' ?
because that is not vertical grip but the rifle sling, that is tightened at one place but loose at front, just near where it is mounted on handguard, kinda giving this aabhaas that it is a vertical grip.
