2 45000 Tonne EMALS carriers seems to be a better option.
emals is a bad idea as they are having major problems in the us for resolving the issues as they developed the whole uss ford with concurrency in mind and i t got messed up and even after 5 years of commisioning the ford,it still cant launch aircraft properly

So the conventional steam powered CATOBAR is the best option? Heard that it adds extra stress on the airframe of the aircraft but it would be excellent IMO if the Aircraft is 100% loaded with Fuel and Weapons and then launched using Steam Catapult.

from what i am reading all the hype of the emals is about faster take off and landing, but now the system is having a lot of problems is running itself forget about combat loads.the emals system cant be shutdown easily for maintenance, the whole power system has to be shutdown instead of individual catapults before trying to work up the insides.read the links.

first ask your self the question, what is the advantage of emals over catapult.it is very little stated advantage iself and due to its issues, the ford carrier is almost a dud even though outward it looks like a nimitz.the nimitz is still the workhorse.the carriers other subsystems are also having issues such as the elevators.the f35b also cant run on it without specific modifications as it will destroy the tarmac due to the engine throust downwards.they have to thermally reinforced and that too only certain points for landing and all the machinary under it also should be changed and refitted .the f35c also cant transfer the vast data which is its main selling point (it being the first self touted net centric aircraft capable of sharing all the info it gets with everybody else including the carriers) to the ford as the ford does not have the necessary equipment to decipher the meaning of the info it gets from the f35 because the equipment is still not installed since its commisioning many years back.

tommorow if a war starts the ford cannot contribute except as a propaganda tool.

PS- Whoever has devised this is a PhD in strategic signalling and media management. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the idea of the old man himself.

I guess the concept of building a road and digging up the same road for laying wire is also prevalent in armed forces.
