Ukraine war has de-emphasized the need for fixed artillery. Now emphasis is on highly mobile artillery with quick shoot and scoot capability. On top of large scale availability of flying drones with AI capability has made artillery very vulnerable.

Hence truck mounted artillery is need of the day. I hope Indian effort to mount ATAGS on a truck succeeds. It can fire a volley and four minutes later, it is gone. That is a great advantage.
The Garuda 105 with automatic gun laying and an autoloader is the ideal shoot and scoot Himalayan rat. Crew won't even have to come out to setup. Have a light vehicle with a drone jammer follow it to counter loitering munitions.

Aside from its obvious utility against Pakistan & China on the border, why not use it against terrorist hideouts .A cheap drone can be used to give targeting info. Also impact assessment.

Maybe used against terrorists when the chances of our troops taking heavy casualties increase due to the very difficult terrain.

Can it fire air burst rounds. Cluster bomb like ammunition. An air burst several metres above an target releasing hundreds of small steel balls which travel at high speeds and puncture through soft tissue. An anti personnel role.

What is the maximum elevation of the system. Can it target positions on higher slopes. Is direct fire possible like how the Bofors guns were used against entrenched Pakistan Army positions on mountain slopes. Those located on heights.

I am not advocating using it on a daily basis against terrorists. To be used only in extraordinary circumstances.

What was Ajit Dubey's take regarding AMCA till day before yesterday?

What is the indigenous content percentage on cost basis in ATAGS?
