High Mobility ,more troops ,ATGMs even there is plan to integrate 105mm gun ,to make it a wheeled tank ,it can be very good in urban environment as well as plains of Punjab who have many water obstacles it is Amphibious, It would also have a role in navy LPD whenever that deal goes through
,Turret won't remain BMP2 30mm ones only there is also a plan for Elbit TurretView attachment 34726 View attachment 34727 View attachment 34728
Elbit Turret
Indian Army somehow does not favour wheeled fighting A Vehicles unless it has an independent role.
AFV / ICV are companions of Tanks and must have matching mobility, good fire power and adequate protection. They should be compatible in length / width, weight for using common assault equipment and crossing equipment. They must ahve emphasis on ant atnak fire power.

Hence the preference goes to tracked vehicles.

Wheeled AFVs / IFV can be used for separate tasks such as Recee, Support, Establishing a missile base, Surveillance, target acquisition, Electronic warfare,Ambulances, logistics vehicles.

On paper Pantsir does look like the better system. Don't know why India can't make these systems.
India already use a variant of Tunguska and is going to replace it with the K-30 Biho. And by the recent performance of Panister system, didn't think india is going to buy it either

Bhadra, I have seen reports that Russian S-300 batteries are not firing at Israeli fighters. Syrian war is a very complex war and more like a sectarian conflict despite presence of stalwarts.

Syria seems like a weapons testing range now.

West, specially USA has used all conflicts during cold war periods and post cold war period as test beds and display shows for their weaponry and wide commercial advertisements.
Syria is a little different due to not Russian Technology but Russian physical presence. The dangers of escalation and Russians using technology to make Western technology ineffective can be counter productive.
Israel has direct stakes there while Russian and US are jockeying for influence.

#INDIAN_ARMY to acquire 104 Hanwha K-30 Biho Mobile Air Defense system for $2.6-bn

.

Hanwha's K-30 Biho (Flying Tiger) twin 30mm short range, mobile self-propelled anti-aircraft system, manufactured by Hanwha, has been selected by the Indian Army following a competition that included Russia’s Tunguska-M1 which has a range of up to 10 kilometers, and the Pantsir-S1 ‘Greyhound’.

The weapon was developed to meet the operational requirements of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces for a highly mobile short-range air defense system suited to the operational and terrain conditions of the Korean peninsula. It combines an electro-optically guided 30 mm gun system with a surveillance radar system on a K200 chassis. It supplements the K263A1 Chungung, a self-propelled 20 mm Vulcan system. The K30 is primarily built by Hanwha Defense Systems.

The K-30 Biho, in addition to its 30mm auto-cannon, has LIG NX1 Chiron missiles, a TPS-830K search and tracking radar, and advanced electro-optical sights fire control. The expected quantities are 104 K-30 Biho systems, plus 97 ammunition carriers, 39 command vehicles and ammunition with a value of KRW 3 trillion $2.6 billion (KRW 3 trillion).

This is the first export sale of the system by Korea. Biho also participated in US Army firing demonstrations held in 2017.

Why wasting 2.3B$ on bhoo system.
Can't we design same system.
A BMP with a turret with a search radar and fire control radar with missiles.
Our guys can do but both Drdo and Army's mech guys are lazy and useless.

Indian Army has finally selected the South Korean Hanwha K-30 Biho Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun and Mobile Air Defence System to replace the older 2K22 'Tunguska' in service with Indian Army. This will be the second South Korean military equipment with IA after K-9 VAJRA-T SPH.

Biho is armed with twin KKCB 30 mm automatic gun which has a cyclic rate of fire of 600 rounds per minute. They are capable to fire HE-FRAG Ammunition and have a range of upto 3 km against low flying aerial targets.

There is seriously something wrong with scientists community and armed personnel community. I don't see any foreseeable future for our Arjun project despite proving at multiple fronts, only 100+ are in service while we just ordered 400+ T90s to fulfill shortcomings. Same is the future of Tejas and Kaveri engine.

we are buying / inducting new t 90 what is it replacing t 55 or t 72s and what happens to the retired tanks
T55s are already retired and the T90s are supplementing the T72s.

With regards to retirement, any electronics and components (such as machine guns, tracks etc.) which can be reused are salvaged. The tanks are then placed in storage for a time period after which the following can happen to the vehicle:
- The vehicle is scrapped.
- The hull is converted to an auxiliary vehicle (Recovery, mine clearing, bridge laying etc.)
- Vehicle is used a display piece.
- Deployed as an immobile fixed emplacement at the border.
